Opinion on Spuffy/Briley

Personally, I strongly dislike Briley because I don't think that Buffy changed or matured at all when she was with him. I look at when she first met Riley in Fourth Season, and when he left in Fifth Season, and I just see zero impact. Even when Riley left, I didn't notice a change. And then when I look at Spuffy, and their extremely long and complicated history together, I really saw Buffy changing, maturing, and finding herself when she was with Spike. But that's just my opinion. :grouphug:
 
Personally - I tend to see Spuffy as an very violent & abusive relationship, that has nothing to do with real passion & maturity and every thing to do with lust & being self-serving. At least that the way it was in Season 6. But by end of season 7, their relationship was more based on an honest friendship.

As for Buffy/Riley - I tend to agree that it was a rebound relationship for Buffy. And while I also belief that Buffy did care for Riley and love him in a very human way. I also have to agree that it lacked the passion of Buffy/Angel or the raw lust of Buffy/Spike.

I'll also agree that Buffy needs a Champion - someone whom is her equal. But it's interesting to note - that by early to mid Season 7 - Buffy still hadn't fully figured out why her relationships didn't workout (i.e. the whole Inferior/superior complex in CwDP). And even in the Season 8 comics - she's still having relationship issues.
