Ok, I'm slowly trying to conquer all sorts of media.

-Had my own college radio show, interviewed a few celebrities
-Been on television 3 times (auditioner, extra, interviewed)
-Written and created website for newspaper
-Directed several short, independent films

So, now I'm going to take my hand at blogging/writing. I'm going to start a blog where I review horror films. Since I am a horror director at heart, of course my blog is going to be about horror films. Hopefully I can review, analyze, and learn something. Anyway, everyone here is very opinionated, in a good way, so I was wondering if yal can help me out.

Here is the link to my first entry. I was wondering if you could read it and then give me criticism. What should I leave out? What was bad? What should I add in? Lemme know!

It is my freakin' career ambition to be in a horror movie! I didn't know this about you, I will definately read your blog!!

I am a huge horror movie fan so if you keep this is up I'll read it, it looks really good! 😀

but honestly I would have given a much harsher review of Black Christmas cos that movie sucked haha 😛

I read your review ... Great start! How objective to you want you reviews to be? Add more of yourself into them! What gets me the most is that you gave the movie a decent review. Ha, just teasing. I think you covered everything, even box office records which is great. You just going to review any and all horror? Ever seen "The Haunting" 1963?

I'm pretty much going to review them as I see em. So if I see something new on On Demand or get something for Xmas then I'll do a review. Or if I'm really bored I'll prob do random ones.

No, I haven't seen The Haunting...or maybe I have. There are so many "The Haunting" films now I'm starting to get them confused.
 
Nice! I read it and thought you did a good job.

May I suggest that the appearance change? Do you know how to use WordPress? There are free custom templates, or for a small charge, you can download a custom template. If you intend to blog for a while, a custom template will really make your blog stand out. I use Elegant Themes for my custom WordPress Template. It's $39 a year, but there are plenty of free ones available.

heard of wordpress, never used it. ill def check it out tho. thanks!
Wordpress themes are really easy to make on your own with only a basic understanding of photo editing software and HTML, CSS is a bonus as well...

once you actually look into Wordpress and see how easy it is to reskin, you'll seriously wonder why people are paying for themes when you can design your own kick ass one in under an hour

We pay for them because we are not as smart as you! :) I paid $39 and spent countless hours on my website, but I feel it was time well spent. I finally know Wordpress!
Took the advice of Goby and Methos and switched over to wordpress.

I included a review of Sarah's film The Possession.

Any new suggestions?

I definitely want to change the skin of the site, but taking little steps at a time. I don't think I could possibly make anything as good as the one that is on there right now, which is a reloaded one.
 
Personally I prefer blogger (blogspot). Just a side comment, has nothing to do with you.

When I was about 13 my dream was to make the scariest movie of all times.

Your blog looks very professional, and you write very well. I'm actually in awe that you pulled it off so well. It's all very attractive and nice to read.

I'm not a big horror fan, and I know nothing about reviewing, but your blog looks awesome! Cool-looking and well-written. Your review of SMG's new movie almost made me want to watch it, and like I said, not a big horror fan. 🙂

Ok, so, after a few people here, one in particular who I talk to through PM, encouraged me to move from blogger to wordpress, I started my own site at wordpress. i've posted the link here and it is in my signature. well, some how someone found my little review site and liked my work so much that they asked me to come on board.

the website is www.horrorsociety.com and it is the #1 source for news, reviews, and interviews in relation to independent horror. while i do plan on updating my personal site with reviews, mostly i will be working for horrorsociety. right now what i'm focusing on is celebrity interviews. i interviewed Stacey Dixon (upcoming horror scream queen, model) and i'm working on interviewing ms. monster (horror host, comics), allison kyler (VH1's scream queens, chromeskull: laid to rest II ) and one other actress.

now the job doesn't pay but it does have a lot of benefits including free merchandise, free tickets to films, free films, etc. one of the benefits have already come in. i will be observing behind the scenes of a new horror film shooting in NY this weekend. hopefully i can pull in a good article and "break" the news to the internet. i'm also invited to the cast & crew party afterwards.

if anyone is interested in following my work further, any post by MGDSquan on horrorsociety is me...but i retweet a lot of my work on twitter, which is brdnofsacrifice
