Now that the new season came out, I thought I'd make a new thread since the old one is now in the cemetery.

I just started watching s2 (actually got a netflix account just for this), I'm now on episode 3, and all I can say is holy ****. I thought s2 couldn't be better than 1, but right now things are looking really good! It definitely surpassed my expectation!

*very minor spoilers ahead*

I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed episode 2, which didn't feature Piper or Alex. I barely even noticed that the lead character wasn't even the episode, just goes to show how good the casting is here! I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. Looks like Morello's episode is next, which I've been waiting for a while!

Edit: (Scratch that, it isn't Morello's story, but I think this one will be just as good!)

I'm looking forwards to Morello's story too! :)
I'm halfway through episode 7. I really like how they have focused on all the other women this season, I'm not missing Piper at all, even Larry is more interesting when not tied to her.

P.S. Morello's story will break you heart into itty bitty pieces.

I love Morello even MORE now that I know she's insane-o.

So, so agreed! I actually love Piper, she's a complete narcissistic b**** that deserves pretty much everything that is happening to her, but I find she's an interesting character. But in this case, less is definitely more. I'm really enjoying her new role, and her being in the background this season works out in her favour. So far, I also do like Larry better, whom I disliked first season.

I watched up to episode 4 last night, you are right, Morello's story broke my heart (although I saw this one coming). This show has a way of making me feel for characters that would normally be viewed as bad guys.

Halfway through episode 2, watched the season finale again first to get caught up.

It's phenomenal!

Yeah, that's it exactly. I enjoy Piper's scenes so much more now that they are sparser. I'm looking forward to when Alex comes back, the way they've done it this year really lends itself to creating anticipation.

I hate Vee, though. Don't like her or her story. That probably has to do with Poussey, who I ADORE.

I thought Morello was going that way too but it was just so much sadder to actually see it. Kudos to the actress, she has been incredible.

I also hate Vee. I don't even love to hate her (like Tuckey in s1), I just hate her. The actress is doing a phenomenal job though, got to give her credits for making me dislike the character so much.

Poussey's story absolutely broke my heart. It really, really hit home, I'm loving her character so much! It's hard to pick a favourite in a show like this where everyone is just great, but Poussey would definitely be up there.

Still can't really believe how great the cast is, after this show ends (which hopefully won't be anytime soon), I really hope some of those actresses get big roles.

I'd listen to her speak Dothraki!

Has German ever sounded sexier?
She's in for 6 years, I am dying to know what she did to get that kind of sentence.

To answer your question, no, no it has not. Now I just really want to hear the actress speak French
Finished!

The second half of the season is amazing.

Wow, you guys are fast! haha.

I've watched the first 4 episodes so far. I've got a stupid cold so I'm totally going to stay in and watch as many episodes as I can this weekend. Really liking it so far. I only just recently watched season 1. It had always been a show that I was like "Oh yeah, I'll try that eventually" until a friend of mine kept raving about how awesome it is and convinced me to try it as soon as I could. She was so right, I wish I had gotten into the show sooner.

Blaze Kean - I agree with you guys. Morello's story was really sad. And I love Poussey and hate Vee already also.

I also feel really sorry for Suzanne.

Oh and I agree about Piper also. Its been better that there hasn't been as much focus on her so far. I go from really sympathizing with her to wanting to smack her for being such a moron.

Wow, you guys are fast! haha.

It's becoming an issue haha, can't get any work done since all I want to do is watch this show.

Only 2 more episodes to go. I don't want it to end!
Especially that those past few episodes really picked up the pace. The end of episode 11 was my first jaw dropping moment of the season, I did not see that coming, at all!! I can't wait to see how it plays out, and I'm dying to know what will happen with the Alex storyline. I was expecting her to be back in prison before the end of the season, but now things all seem to be heading in weird directions. And Morello, I just want to give her a hug. I love her and Nikki's friendship.

On another note, is it just me or is this season really dark?

Finished!

The second half of the season is amazing.

Twist and turns everywhere! I didn't think I could love this show any more, I was wrong.

Very dark, but in a very personal way for each character. They are all finding or confronting their own darkness and trying to figure out which version of them is their true self. It's fascinating.

I got through the first 5 episodes yesterday and I'm loving it so far. Part of me wants to binge on the rest today and another part of me wants to watch one episode a day just to make it last longer. Netflix is killin me! 😀

Can't decide if it's a good thing or not to be aloud to watch 13 episodes in one sitting, I mean that can't be healthy right? :p
Not sure why, but I didn't find this season quite as amazing and funny as the first one.
It was still great, and I'm looking forward to season 3 already. But I just wasn't quite as amazed as I was during last season.

Vee never got my interest either which didn't help of course since she did play a rather big part of the season.
Think she was a bit too serious for me. Pretty much all other main characters can be quite funny and you like them for it. But with Vee we didn't really get any of that.

I would've liked to see more of Piper actually.
Just a little bit more anyway. Nothing wrong with turning the focus away from her a bit, that's probably just good but I really like Taylor Schilling... 😱

/SK

Finally got to finish it.

Brilliant! Vee was a fantastic addition, she is such an annoying character, but we need that when all the characters are "bad guys", even bad guys need a villain, and having her really made Poussey shine, I dont remember her being such a standout last season!

I loved how Pipers story sunk back into the background a little but she still weighted the story as the lead, it still felt focused on her, but gave us much more of the characters current situations without having to be related to Piper.

I love how they were ballsy enough to remove Alex for the season, most shows would have tried to repeat the success of season 1, people would have said it wasn't as good, then they'd make changes in season 2.

that said I'm really looking forward to having her back full time next season!

This is such a good show. I finished season 2 a few days ago!

Hated Vee. She's irredeemably villainous...and I hated that Suzanne became her muscle.
I love that Rosa killed Vee...because "nobody fraks with cancer." I only hope she's really dead...

I loved the attention given to the other women this season. Piper feels like less and less of *the* lead character, which I really like. Characters like Poussey and Pennsatucky really shined this season.

I did enjoy Chapman's evolution though. She's not exactly "hardened" but she's a lot tougher and I enjoyed her character a lot more. Her interactions with Soso really highlighted how far she's come.

I can't believe I have to wait a whole other year for moooreee. The perils of bingewatching...

That ending was F***ing epic! It actually took me by surprise, I thought the finale was a bit underwhelming until that happen. It was like a dream come true!

I really, really loved Piper this season. I liked her last season but she did feel like there was too much emphasis on her and she was playing the victim card too much. This season she really grew, and I'm really liking the character that she's becoming. I love when she admits that she's finale being herself, that she's not a good person and there's a reason she's in jail. My favourite Piper moment was when
she was one furlough (however you spell that), such a huge difference in character, and very fitting
I also loved her past and how we realize that she was very far from being a victim in the whole drug smuggling deal. She loved it just as much as Alex did.

And again, that ending. It made me go "these two really do belong together". I love Vauseman! They are equally as awful to each other lol

I can't believe I have to wait a whole other year for moooreee. The perils of bingewatching...

I'm hoping that netflix will be extra nice and release the season in early 2015. One can dream right?

I just finished it last night.

I really liked it 😀 I want more! Stupid binge watching! I wish I could pace myself better, haha.

I definitely enjoyed Piper a lot more this season. And can I just say how much I love Rosa right now? Awesome ending!

I loved it, but I do think it's a show that wouldn't survive regular TV, despite the multitude of story, the actual overall plot is quite slow, thank God for Netflix, It's raised my expectations for the upcoming Marvel serieses
