Trivia:

- The final scene is of Marcy reading a textbook chapter titled "Assassination and Infiltration" with a subtitle referring to targeting the leader of a cult as an example. However, the actual text begins with the date August 2, 19XX and this is followed by the lyrics of The Beatles song, "Happiness is a Warm Gun" only they are written as prose, with the line "Happiness is a warm gun" changed to "Joy is a hot revolver".

Goofs:

- At the end, when Marcie is being walked down the hallway to her new class, the boom mic and pole are visible at the top of the frame when they reach the corner.

- If Marcie injected Cordelia with something to numb her entire face, she should not be able to make any real expressions, or talk as well as she does.

A famous movie about her and Anne Sullivan, called The Miracle Worker, was released in 1962, starring Patty Duke as Helen Keller.

LOL I LOVE the Helen Keller line. It cracks me up every time. And I have noticed the mic and boom before. 😉 And even though I never really thought about it before, the thing about the injection in her face makes sense.
 
We just watched this episode in BBtv and I also noticed this: once Angel has rescued Giles, Willow and Xander from the boiler room, he offers to go back in and the turn gas off, saying he doesn't need the oxygen. Which is very true. He does still shut himself up inside. He might not need to breathe but I'm sure he'd like to get out 😉

I was also there for the BBTV session, and this question popped into my mind:

Can the invisible kids see each other?
 
Wow, I think that this episode was one of the scariest of the show, because it was so real... Crimes similar to this, unfortunately, happen all the time (I mean crazy Marcie, the whole unpopularity thing, and trying to mess up a girl's beauty). Although it's usually guys who shave a girl's head. 🙁

But yeah, it was seriously, seriously creepy. Invisible Marcie, holding a knife to Buffy's back and beating a guy with a bat, trying to snatch away a girl's pride and beauty, it's so... Gah! 😀 I can handle death and torture, simple. But seeing someone trying to disfigure the face of a gorgeous young woman... Too freaky for words, I was screaming right along with Cordelia. 😀
 
That was cool too, I would love if I could see through walls and have special magic powers

That is a talent that would definitely come in handy.
What's great about this episode is that suddenly, after 10 episodes of using her for like one shred of snark per episode (or less), we finally have a real "Cordy episode" here and hey! Charisma Carpenter can act! The S1 trick of using Cordy as Buffy's "foil" clearly didn't work, because, well, high school's a big place and if you don't like each other, you just avoid each other. So it's great to see some character development here with an eye toward actually using the Cordy character more in S2.
 
I repectfully disagree. This is just me and I am particular but I was never too impressed with Charisma Carpenter's acting. She just always looked the same to me whether she was crying or laughing or whatever emotion she was showing. She didn't suspend my disbelief which is what an actor or actress is supposed to do.

Really? I think she does better on S1 than either David Boreanaz or Alyson Hannigan.
Although I love the Cordy development, the thing that always sticks with me about this episode was the discussion about signing yearbooks with "Hope You Have a Great Summer!" It's so true.

Going back and watching this episode made me notice what a nice voice Clea DuVall has. What happened to her?

Yeah, this is a pretty flawless episode - the metaphor isn't laid on too thick, Cordelia's character is fleshed out a bit more and it is genuinely creepy. One of my all-time favourites - it would have been awesome if Marcie appeared in a later episode like Amy did frequently.

Love the quote you posted about Cordelia and her saying does anyone notice my pain I laughed hard about that but that was Cordy for you back then.
 
I like this episode...Marcy being invisible, Angel saving the scoobies, the creepy end. It's a nice attempt at showing how can people truly feel alone in high school, ignored and misunderstood.
