"Out of the Box" music

Allthough I enjoy everyday music that hit the charts or music by artist that do. When it comes to music I like to expiriment and listen to music that you don't hear on the music everyday, that not everybody knows about. And that's what I'd like to discuss, do any of you have any hints on what I (or other interestend people) should really try sometime? Can be a song, can be an artist, can be an album, just tell me, what "Out of the Box" music do you like?
 
I really love the band 'Boa' -- they sing the theme song, "Duvet" from the anime Serial Experiments Lain. They're really good, have been trying to get my hands on their 'Twilight' album, but I don't have a credit card, so can't get it online. 🙁
 
Album - 'Sacred Spirit'. Native American Indian music but with a more contemporary feel - I think one or two tracks have been used for commericals.😉

And yes, I am weird! 😛

Trying to d/load it now!

I haven't seen Lain, I'd love to, but my harddisk is full, so I'm going to have to wait. Anyway, there's really a lot of Anime with OSTs that I *LOVE*, I have the full ablums of Ghost in the Shell, AKIRA, Princess Mononoke.

But you really gotta have, the themes from, Cowboy Bebop, TriGun and Hellsing ... the whole Hellsing OST is great btw

No, you're not, I d/loaded one of the songs and liked it!

I also like Jeff Buckley! (saw on an Amber Bensons site, that she likes it, so I tried it out)

I also heard this one bagpipe song called "High Land Cathedral" ... I love it, it's very ... I dunno how to call it, but it's just beautifull!
 
As you can probably tell from my signature i'm a huge fan of Darling Violetta. (they play the Angel theme tune, and were in the bronze in "faith hope and trick.") Not many people know about DV (even though they should!!). If you click on the link in my sig. it takes you to the Parlour (DVs new album) site where you can listen to snippets of songs to see of you like them. 🙂
 
Liquid Soul are a very good fast saxy jazzy band which i'm not usually into but they are great. Also Poe , who isn't heard off really here in the UK but may be elsewhere.

Also Velvet Chain who appeared on buffy Season 1 are amazing, they have a song in nearly every genre so you're bound to like one of them, plus Erika's vocals are amazing. If you go to http://www.velevtchain.com you can listen to some mp3's to see if you like them
 
I just recently got turned onto Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society. If the name sounds familiar, Zakk Wylde has been playing guitar for Ozzy for a number of years now.

Be forewarned this is some pretty heavy music, but really groove-driven still and it definetly has that Ozzy sound to it. Zakk has released albums both by himself and as BLS.

Some good songs to check out are "Low Down", "Bleed For Me", or if you like the softer ballads which he does quite well "Spoke in the Wheel" or the amazing cover of Niel Young's hit "Heart of Gold".

I listen to ALOT of music that most people have never heard of before, let me know if you want more and most importantly what kind of music you like!
