When I first watched Buffy I hated Oz for his monosyllabic ways and for being rather boring but having watched season 4 back,I just want to apologise for not realising the beauty and stoicism beating in your werewolf heart!Oz,I humbly apologise....

Yes,I don't actually miss him....But I can imagine him, every full moon running free,up in the high mountains, tearing sheep to pieces....Eww!

: yikes :

Naw, he won't change.

Unless some sheep REEEALLy pisses him off.... :shinner:

I still can't understand why Seth Green quit to make movies....Hang on,I do actually! :dork:

I think Seth Green's great -- Oz, just as amazing. He was one of those characters you didn't really get at the beginning of the show; you're kinda wondering where's the point in him, but I think towards the end of Season Three, and start of Four, you really pick up on his great-ness. I really miss Oz. . .I liked Willow better straight, mann! LOL.

But ooh, I understand too! I LOVE Seth Green's movies. He's SUCH a good actor; and SO hilarious. : superhap

I adore Oz. I sooooo wanted him to come back once more 🙁 🙁 🙁

ME TOO. Geeze!

But I think when he found out Willow was gay. . .there wasn't anything else for him in Sunnydale 🙁.

Yet, I was always thinking he shoulda been brought onto Angel when Nina was struggling with her wolf-ness. As someone to talk to. . .to me. . .it woulda worked out.

:apple: -- >> This applies to nothing, I'm just wondering, why the hell is there a smiling apple in here?! LOL.

Oz was a good character, but he ran his course, his story solely relied on where Willow was at at that time. If he stayed around til the very end, there wouldn't have been very much for him to do. The problem was that, sadly, Oz was very one dimensional, not the fault of the actor or Joss, it's just his character was very stoic and was best at just hanging around and helping out. I can't really see where he would've gone if he stayed after Willow became a Lesbian.

Good points one and all! :band: (love that smilie!)

It was great to have him back on 'New Moon Rising'(at this point I'd like to take a moment to praise Sky 1 for showing us Buffy every weekday),looking at season 4 again,I have to say it's going way up in my estimation!Even Riley seems to make sense now... : punch:

And Oz as a wolf is still hilarious..... :bear:

i adored oz...still do. he's my favourite character and will always remain that. him and willow together made the show for me in the second and third seasons. if it weren't for oz, i don't know if willow would have ever grown out of her shell. i don't really like the tara/willow relationship. i much prefer willow with oz, and i miss him dearly! :sad25: ::crying2:

I loved Oz, and I think that he was a brilliant character. But I never really missed him after he went away in season 4, I think it was his time.. or something. Anyway.. how can you not love this from Earshot, when everyone else is thinking about what they really shouldn't be thinking, Oz is thinking: " I am my thoughts. If they exist in her, Buffy contains everything that is me and she becomes me. I cease to exist."..."No one else exists either. Buffy is all of us. We think. Therefore, she is."

I loved Oz, I thought he was a fab character, and I loved the whole Willow and Oz thing, but I have to say I am glad that he left because then Willow and Tara would have never got together. 🙂 I prefer their relationship. Plus, I don't need to miss Oz, I can watch him whenever I like because I have the DVD'S. So I think that Oz making way for Tara was a good deal. 🙂

I wasn't a huge fan of Oz, but that was probably due to the fact that I never really watched the first 3 seasons until after I knew Tara was going to be there... So I guess I never got "attached" to him... But, I watched the extra from season 4, about Oz, and I accepted a lot more... I guess another reason was that so many people were so close-minded about Willow being with Tara... But, I guess I see Oz in a different light now, so he's not half bad anymore 🙂

i don't think it was that. i think it was that a lot of people who started watching buffy from season one, saw her and oz's relationship grow, and saw willow become...well, a woman with oz. i couldn't care less whether or not willow chose to move on with a woman, or man, i just loved oz and what he did for willow.

oz has always been my favourite. but i understand why some people dont "get" him. but all of the characters talk so much constantly, that its good they brought in a quiet character. (i get angels quiet but theres a difference between brooding and oz).
he does seem to be one of the deepest characters as seen in earshot when buffy overhears him. but its cool how he seems to have such a presence in the program while standing not saying a word. the show would be so different without him. it wouldnt work.

i think oz is AWESOME but i still like tara being with willow in season 4

I actually liked Oz right from the start. In a show filled with a bunch of people that loved to talk it was refreshing to see this character who was more layed back. He was clearly a very intelligent person, that was shown almost from his first appearance and you certainly knew after What's My Line, but he didn't always need to be speaking or putting his opinion across with witty one liners like the rest of the group.

I'd also argue that Oz was far more than just there to be Willow's boyfriend. You may get that impression by the fact that he was only ever written that way, due to how he came into the show and how he left it, but that was far from being true. I mean, you could say that Angel's major role in Buffy had been to be her boyfriend/lover, but he sure as hell worked well out on his own.

I reckon that if we had really got chance to see Oz as a single guy, maybe over as a regular character on Angel, you would have seen a lot more layers to him.
