Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer/producer Jane Espenson returns to Sunnydale with a new five-issue Dark Horse comic series centering on Oz, the rocker werewolf and onetime paramour of Willow.

"I'm doing this five-issue Oz arc," Espenson said in an exclusive interview. "I am planning on doing a lot of writing on that over the Christmas break. The next thing I'm going to do is finish this Dollhouse script, then we get into that Oz comic and really, really knock that out."

Oz, played by Seth Green in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show, was the subject of an earlier Dark Horse series of comics. Dark Horse has been publishing a series of Buffy comics, overseen by series creator Joss Whedon, that constitute a "season eight" continuation of the TV show's overall story arc.

As for the arc's storyline ? "Oh, that is top secret, my friend, but it's super cool," Espenson said, adding : "You'll see a wolf or two. There might be a wolf."

Will Oz have a new love interest ? "I don't think wolves mate for life," Espenson said slyly. "I think there could be a new mate. We'll see."

Espenson previously wrote a Buffy comic centering on the comic vampire figure of Harmony.

I doubt that and wouldn't like it too much (because, hello, gay now ^^ ). Still, Ozlow beats Killow any old day in my book - even with its jealousy factor for me. 😉

hey, InsaneShempy rocks ass *beams* but InsaneMystillow is a chance I wouldn't pass up either ;)
I may stop reading the comics if anything indicates a return of Woz...that is just ...No!! I'd take Kennedy over Oz any day of the week!!

Kennedy sucks. Plain and simple. And I never thought willow was truly gay. Just that she fell in love with A woman. Singular.

As much as I'd like to see Willow and Oz get back together (if Tara can't come back, that's the option I'd be happiest with), let's be serious...it's definitely not gonna happen. Even if it was an actual possibility, can you imagine the massive amounts of semi-justified wank and hate mail the writers would get, particularly from members of the gay community? I mean, if people were up in arms over Tara dying, I can't even imagine how mad they'd be if Willow suddenly decided to date guys again.
 
I love Oz, loved Oz and Willow as a couple while it lasted, was heartbroken when they broke up, liked Tara, liked Tara and Willow as a couple, despised Kennedy and hated Willow/Kennedy.
That about sums it up.
I doubt the writers let Willow and Oz hook up again - because Willow definitely is "hello, gay now".
And I simply wouldn't like that done to Oz. He had such a hard time getting over Willow and them hooking up again would mess everything up. Because I seriously hope he got over her since we last saw him.

It's unbelievable how fast this thread turned into a shipping debate. As if there wasn't more to say.
I'm still thrilled about the Oz arc, I always felt that his story wasn't finished. It will be great to see him again 🙂

No wonder, Willow's ships seem to be more passionately argued than the Bangel vs. Spuffy debate, at least here on this site. 🙂

I totally have to agree with you though - I absolutely loved Oz as a character and am more than happy to hear his story finally gets continued after all this time... I'm simply not an Ozlow shipper and get the "green eyed monster" when thinking of that ship. 😀

Aaah, I just never really got into that whole shipping stuff. Think it's kinda pointless ^^
I would love it if they got Woz back together. Willow may think she is "gay" but in my heart she will always be bisexual 🙂
 
Ohh, I just thought of this - I'm really hoping for some Oz and Dawn interaction 🙂 I know he probably got his memory altered along with the other Scoobs to remember her but I just can't imagine those two really interacting with each other.

Wolves do, in fact, mate for life, but the males do sometimes cheat.
