The truth is, Oz wasn't made to stay that long. He was meant to be killed by Angelus, you know, instead of Jenny. Now THAT would have made everything so different!

How do you think it would have affected Willow and Oz's relationship and also Willow Tara's afterwards? And what it would have looked like if Jenny wasn't killed off?

To make this short, how would Oz's death by Angelus instead of Jenny's like it was originally planned, have affected the whole story?

It would have changed a lot, as Jenny could have done the soul spell earlier so they wouldn't of had the threat of Acathla. I doubt Buffy would have ran away, although she and Angel would have probably felt really guilty about Oz's death. Willow wouldn't have gotton into the magics as much as Jenny would of been there to guide her, but she still may of met Tara at college. I believe Angel would still have left, though. Not sure whether Spike would have come back as he wouldn't of needed to make the deal with Buffy, which he blamed as the reason Drusilla left him.

I LOVED Jenny. I always felt like Giles should have had someone, so that he wouldn't have been quite so lonely. I know he wasn't THAT lonely, since he did have the little family of
Buffy and the Scooby Gang, but it would have been nice for him to have a companion on the show.
If Angelus had killed Oz instead of Jenny, I would have been so devestated. I absolutely loved Oz and Willow with Oz. I was sad enough that he killed Jenny, but if he had killed Oz instead I would have been totally with Xander in "Becoming" when he gave his little speech to Buffy about killing Angel.

I don't think Willow would have been who she was if Oz had died. I think she would have regressed and become timid little Willow, and been incredibly depressed for a long time. SHe wouldn't have gotten into magic like she did, so no Wicca group, and no Tara. She may have still come out as a lesbian, but not with Tara.

I liked Jenny a lot. I liked her with Giles too. After she died, I wish Giles would have gotten together with Joyce for more than just Band Candy.

I think that the reason for Jenny's deat at that particular time wasn't as much the death of the character as it was what happened next. In Season 2, Giles was capable of becoming the kick ass avenging lover, something that Willow pulled off quite well, and believably, in Season 6, but just plain wouldn't have been capable of when she was just a high school Junior, computer whiz and beginner witch. That's what made Jenny's death so significant. It served to put Giles into Ripper mode. Willow didn't have anything to compare with that at that time.

I think Willow was always a pretty strong witch and was underestimated at times so if she really wanted to she could have done something to get Angelus back.
Now I would have not only been sad but ticked. I like Jenny but my love for Oz is way stronger. I am still upset when watching season four and knowing he is going to leave. Plus like HisMrs said I would have really been on Xander's side if Angelus had killed Oz.

I think that would change a lot.

If Oz died in Passion, he would never got to kill Vamp Willow, so I guess things would end up totally differently with her. I don't know how that would effect Willow or her relationship with Tara. I think that would stay the same.

If Jenny didn't die that night, I guess they would do that soul restoring spell earlier and that would change the course of Buffy's life.

that was parallel!Oz though who killed VampWillow, so no need for that to end diferently ;)
I think it would have been better. Oz was alright, but I felt that people love him more for Seth Green than his actual character. I think Jenny was a character that would have benefited from more screen time, while Oz, as we all know, was a character the writers had problems writing for especially at the end of season 3 and beginning of season 4.

I believe that if Oz had died in "Passions" then...well, Willow wasn't that close to him by that time, but I'm sure she'd be sad that the only person interested in her died suddenly. Xander/Willow probably would've happened in Season 3 and seriously instead of cheating/sneaking around kind of deal. This then would take us into Season 4 and Tara probably would've been a friend instead of a love interest for Willow (who would still be with Xander). Either Tara would get her own love interest (maybe Kennedy?) or she'd remain sexless.

Tara would probably not die in Season 6 and Dark Willow wouldn't happen because Willow wouldn't go over the deep end over a friend (see: Season 5) unless something happened to Xander and then there would probably be a Tara/Willow fight at the end. So there would be two witches for Season 7, dramatically altering the ending of the show most likely.

IF Tara/Willow was to still come to fruition, it'd have to be possibly Season 5 but they'd have to take Xander's attraction to Buffy and make it a problem for Willow and Xander (as Willow knows of Xander's interest in Buffy so I could see it being a source of insecurity for her) to grow apart over and then Willow discovering her attraction to Tara, with Xander and Willow coming to the conclusion (as Willow and Oz did) that they aren't the same people they were in high school and they've grown apart but that they'd still love each other as friends.
