I read the book about 4 years back, and I just realized the movie was based off the book...

I watched it last night and it was SO good... James' character was so cute! The whole cast was good, but James was adorable and very anti-Spike in every sense of the phrase. It was weird for me to see him playing anyone other than Spike or his character on "Smallville", but I was delighted to be able to see him in the movie.

I loved his "What is that smell?" scene. LOL

That movie made me cry SOOO hard SOOO many times! But I totally agree that I loved James Marsters, especially the "what's that smell" scene, it was supper funny! I loved that movie!

I watched this movie when I was living in the states last year and it made so homesick🙁 It is one of my favourite chick flicks. James was good in it but I loved Lisa Kudrow...she was so Pheobe in it! Love it! The parts in Ireland are the best mostly cuz of JDM😉 It's a really sweet, girly film🙂

I agree. I loved both Lisa Kudrow and Gina Gershon! :)
It was a nice film, i read the book thought it was pretty cool however once more a non irish actor tried to do an irish accent and it was pretty bad so that was a let down as usual.

Yeah, isn't Gerard Butler Scottish?? His Irish accent was really bad, and I'm not even from Ireland!
I love P.S I love you. Though I bawled like a baby at it; a (not-so) rare occasion for me when watching films. 😉 I squealed for about twenty minutes in the cinema when I saw James on screen. 😛 I prefer the book, but I defiantly loved the movie. 😀 I saw it with my Mum and sister who both hated it, but pssh I can't hate anything with James in it.

I think the book was WAY better. I was actually really let down that the movie was more like the book. I thought the whole movie was going to be based in Ireland, like in the book, and have all the cute little European references, but it was very Americanized. 🙁

Me too...I was so annoyed by that cuz I think alot of the jokes were waaaaaay funnier in the book.
Kean agrees: Me too...I was so annoyed by that cuz I think alot of the jokes were waaaaaay funnier in the book.

I completely agree... The movie was really good, but if I had watched the movie and then read the book, I would have thought "How is this movie based off this book? It's nothing like it!"

I wasn't that impressed with the film to be honest...all my friends said it was amazing...but i didn't like it that much. It was only watchable for James Marsters and Lisa Kudrow personally...although i did buy my mum the book for her birthday so i might steal it off of her once she's finished and see if that's any better. 😀

You have to read the book. It's SO much different than the movie, and a hundred times better! 🙂
