Zen baby.
Joss and the cast and crew of Dollhouse were at Paleyfest last night on behalf of Dollhouse, just thought I'd post the coverage from the panel that I've been reading 🙂
Joss says he now feels "hope" for a season 2:
We also talked about next season, they called me specifically to say we've been hearing you sound a little despondent, being very clear about this, the show is not cancelled. The numbers have been soft, but the demographic is wonderful. DVR is great, they [FOX] are big fans of the show and they're waiting to see what happens, so now I've gone from a place that's sort of ehhhhhh, they don't even care, no one loves me, to a place of - God, I can't believe I'm saying this...hope.
Rest of that article: Paley Fest 2009: Whedon's 'Dollhouse' Goes Post Apocalyptic Horror?. I'm a tad confused about this movie thing he's talking about... is he joking or did he actually do that?
In this other article they include some great quotes from the cast. This from Miracle Laurie made me lol:
“It was hard not knowing what was coming and I would talk to my friends and family and say that I know I’m just making lasagna right now but I promise I get much cooler,” Laurie said. “I got the script and was just freaking out with every page. I was like are you kidding? We get to do it? I kill somebody? … It was thrilling and terrifying all at the same time.”
The Futon Critic also has a great minute by minute recount of the panel, its pretty thorough coverage of what went on: LIVE AT THE PALEY FESTIVAL: FOX'S "DOLLHOUSE"
Another great article is over at IGN: Dollhouse at Paley Fest 2009, this one has what I'm guessing are red carpet quotes from the cast and pictures, yay! When they asked Joss if he's been thinking of possible storylines for S2 if the show gets a pick up he had this to say:
Yeah, I have thought about it," said Whedon. "I don't have an absolute total arc, but there's a bunch of stuff that we're already chomping at the bit to get to. We feel like this story is just too rich and we've barely scratched the surface. I tell you though, for the next four episodes we scratch it really, really hard. It's gonna bleed."
