It's Pancake Day!! What are you doing today? Favourite toppings? Sweet or savory pancakes?

I'm going to my mother's this evening, we'll probably just have lemon and sugar on ours. Maybe some ice cream, depending on what flavour she has.
 
pancakes topped with sliced banana, whipped cream and caramel sauce is so good.

Also rolled pancakes stuffed with mincemeat, drizzled with honey and a dusting of icing sugar.
 
Never contempoated savory pancakes! Lemon is new to me as a topping.

This sounds like a crime against food and/or humanity 😜 Mincemeat + sugar? Maybe it is like bean on toast, you gotta try it to get it.

This is what is happening today here, no pancakes but sweet buns with whipped cream and almond filling (Semlor)

@Taake are you thinking of meat mince, rather than the fruit mincemeat?

I like fancy.
I'm a classicist - it'll be lemon and sugar for me.
For everyone discovering a new culinery world of mince pies and other bizarrely named British cuisine, pancakes of pancake day are more like crepes than the monstrosities pancakes Americans have for breakfast.
 
Mmmmm pancakes! My favourite thing, everyday is pancake day for me though! Im more of a sugar and lemon sorta gurl
 
Dual English style pancakes this year. First round with prosciutto, cheese and mushrooms. Second round with chocolate.

Traditionally had lemon and sugar growing up. Love American style with maple syrup. Pancakes are just top level food.

It's lemon juice so still kinda like a sauce.

If I'm having either scotch pancakes, or American style ones then it's maple syrup and preferably bacon too.

It definitely seems to be a British thing though to have lemon and sugar on them

Golden syrup - as opposed to maple - is another old school pancake topping, I just don't like it as much as lemon and sugar. Butter would just be unnecessary and add no flavour. They're like crepes so they're much thinner than american pancakes and without all the fluffy insides which can get stuck in your throat if you don't drown them in some form of lubricant. It's a far less starchy experience.

In the UK you can get bottles of lemon juice (some of the bottles shaped like actual lemons) to pour on. Trying to eke the juice out of an actual lemon and ending up with your pancake covered in pulp might be a very different experience.

One of my pancakes ended up on the floor - it was shaping up to be perfect too. I must have tossed it too vigorously,
