This is kind of a Part Deux thread since we did have a Parents thread awhile back (although I can't find it). Anyway, just a place for the moms & dads here to check in, introduce yourself, say hello, yada yada.

So, how many kids do you have? How old? Do you let your kids watch Buffy? Those are the most important questions I can think of. 😀

I'll start. I have 3 boys, aged 10, 7, and 4. I do let them watch Buffy, although I pick & choose which episodes (not ready to let them watch some of season 6 Spuffy sex for example). My middle boy is my big Buffy fan, you'll see some of his comments sprinkled through the BTVS & ATS episode discussion threads. He loves Oz and Spike. His favorite episodes are OMWF, anything Oz werewolf-related, and both my older kids love Smile Time. Thank you Joss Whedon for teaching my kids to say "Stupid plastic piece of crap!" and "I'll kick your puppet ass straight back to hell!". Best.mother.ever.

My oldest did watch some of Serenity with me, although I haven't let him watch Firefly yet. Not quite sure how to explain Inara's job description to him. 😉 I think I'll let them watch Dr. Horrible though since I finally saw it. I know I'll probably have to deal with weeks of "My penis is the hammer" though. Sigh.

Great thread! I'm not a mother yet myself but I always like to imagine what it will be like to introduce Buffy to my kids!
Hey! i'm a mom of three girls... twins who are 11 and a 4 year old. I let my twins watch with me...I've recently become pretty obsessed with buffy and they're getting to the age where anything mom likes can't be cool, so it's nice we can all agree on buffy. 🙂

I have a son 26 years old. I was never able to get him hooked on Buffy. How did I fail him? However, he does help me with my podcast, which is hosted on his server, the name of which is also my username on this site. Sometimes he even listen to me while I rattle on and on.

I have two girls and both of them watch BtVS, "Angel", and "Firefly" with me... Certain episodes/scenes are off limits but they love the shows. My little one tells people that her daddy (who is deployed to Afghanistan) "fights the bad guys like Buppy". LOL

Well I have my "surrogate" son whom I've raised, that is my little brother. We've been more or less alone until the last few years 🙂

He's allowed to watch Buffy and Angel, we have yet to watch Firefly though but I think he'd enjoy it. He prefers Buffy though, Angel is too broody, and he absolutely hates Faith after seeing "Bad Girls" and '"Consequences", he felt very strongly taking Buffy's side in all of that 😀

Oh and he's about to turn 12.

Doesn't like Angel, hates Faith... sounds like my kinda kid! haha
My daughter is 4. She has never seen the shows as she is too young in my opinion but then again she handled Dr. Who last week so maybe she can handle btvs with some heavy editing from me???

I have a son who is almost 10 months old so no TV for him until he is at least 2 yrs old...but I am sure one day he will see some Buffy with Mommy. 🙂

Parent here. But also student gal, working gal and getting things together before my horse comes home gal, so not so much forum gal at the moment.

My kids are born in -05 and -07, no Buffy for them yet. By the time they read well enough for subtitles to be a help, I suppose they may be old enough to see some.
