My best friends parents are getting a divorce and shes staying with her mom here in L.A but she just told me tonight. She was crying, and now shes at home and I feel bad, I dont know what to tell her when she comes back tomorow....
Can you help me??

Tell her it was probably for the best.

My parents got divorced a couple of years ago and I was so glad they did. Some people just shouldn't remain together.

See thats what I don't get! My parents are splitting as well. (Dads moving out by Dec. 31 this year). Everyone I've talked to has said its real hard, and all the girls I know have cried about it.

I dont feel a thing. Not mad, not sad, not happy, nothing. Does this mean Im weird?

as for the topic...

I agree with Lorne the Host.

some people shouldnt stay together, and ya, it probobly was for the best.

....you know what? I think he summed it up right there. Good for you Lorne! lol.

um possibly have her sleep over till she gets used to the fact? I know one of my friends (that is a girl), slept over at a different friends house for like 2 weeks till the mother moved out, and it was better for her in the long run.

thats all I got.

Umm I live with her, she is my dorm mate...we live in a boarding school (lol like 20 minutes from our houses, were next dor neighbors too when were not in school)...lol so Yeah she does sleep over alot I guess you could say, but no tonight shes home, Im alone lol

Well, I think that Lorne did pretty much sum it up. I doubt anything will really make her feel better about this split than time. Just try to be there for her if she's upset and try to get her out and doing things when you can. That's all you really can do. The hurt will pass and she'll probably even realize it's better that way...but some people just handle that kind of thing differently. Mine divorced when I was 5 and where I remember that very day they sat us down and told us I don't recall it bothering me...but I never even saw them together and have no memory of them being close or loving so it was no big change. I was just busier on the weekends...

try to get her mind off of it...get her to laugh...gotta try to raise her spirits...lol..it might be hard..but ya gotta try...

why don't you like get some glass bottles...and shatter'em by throwing'em...usually is really fun...

Ya know, SG's got something there...I used to do that...but maybe you all should find a way to relieve her intense feelings in a less dangerous way like...in a mosh pit beating the hell out of random people...LOL! J/K of course! (or at least I have to say that 😉 ) No, but he does have a good idea with somehow working the negetive energy off in more positive ways...ie-laughing, mountain climbing, running or wahtever you all are into...
