Bring on the Night
Give me slack, it's my first one...lol. Sorry it's kinda cheesy.

The dusty school bus traveled down the seldom-traveled I-10. They did not know where they were going yet, but they knew it was safe. Safe"¦the earth was safe now; Spike had really done it. He saved the world. To Buffy this was not the first time he saved the world, or her world at least. When Buffy was full of emptiness, Spike had brought her to life. When ever she saw him, the weight of the world lifter off her shoulders for just a moment. And just that was enough to make her fall madly in love with him.
"Where are we going?" Buffy's sister, Dawn asked. She was always the one to ask the questions.
"The first town we can find, Dawn. We really need a break; and he needs to get to the hospital." Buffy was pointing at Wood, as he let out more coughs of despair. Surprisingly Wood was strong enough to drive the bus, but they were not sure of how much longer he would last.
The people on the bus were all extremely quite. They had a lot to talk about, but did not know how to say it. Because of them, evil was defeated and slayers were awakening all over the earth.
Buffy was dying inside. Even though Spike had died saving the world, as she has done once, she missed him with every fiber of her being. Buffy's only wish at that moment was that Spike would be there to hold her; but instead Buffy would never see him again. She was remembering the time that they just held each other all night, it was then Buffy realized that Spike was the one.
"It should have been me. It should have been me." Buffy repeated as she broke down crying.
"No Buffy. We all miss Spike, but I think we'd miss you more. We've already lost you once; I couldn't stand losing you again." The red-haired Willow said to her.
"We're safe Buffy. The Scooby gang made it through this. Who would have ever thought that we'd live this long." Xander added.
"But I died"¦twice." Buffy responded with tears in her eyes.
"Let's just forget about that." Xander replied.
They pulled into the driveway of the first motel they found. They hoped that everyone had evacuated the motel also, so they did not have to pay. There were not any cars in the drive way, and no strangers to see for miles. The potentials, who were now also slayers, filed into random rooms and immediately went to sleep. Each room had two queen beds, and there were enough rooms for one per bed. They paired off; Buffy with Dawn, Willow with Xander, Giles with Andrew, and Faith took her own room.
In their room, Buffy and Dawn shared another hug before they went to sleep.
"I still can't believe we made it." Willow said to Xander in their room.
"I bet in kindergarten you never imagined that someday we'd go through this." Xander responded. He was always making jokes.
"Yeah, I know." They joked together.
"You know, I always had a little crush on you during school, but was too afraid to tell you. My manly ego hates rejection." Xander told her.
"No you didn't, I was the one that always liked you. You went out with every other girl except me."
"Will, that was because you are my best friend, and I was afraid that if you shot me down, we might not be friends anymore."
"Sure, now that I'm gay you tell me." They both laughed on that one as the reminisced about high school.
"Yeah, and I've given up hope in women." Xander replied.
"All women?" Willow asked. They paused for a moment.
"Gosh, it really hurts to lose someone you love, doesn't it? I thought for sure Anya was strong enough to fight the demons off."
"Tell me about it. When Tara was shot, I tried to destroy the world. But you were the one who got to me in time."
"I meant everything I said that day. I love you, Will."
"I know that, silly. We should get some sleep."
"No, I mean"¦I really love you. The real reason I left Anya at the altar was you"¦well not mainly you"¦you know what I mean. I loved Anya, but I felt that being married to her meant less time for our friendship. I couldn't stand that. You the only one that really gets me."
Willow and Xander leaned in and shared a short kiss.
"It's been a long time since I've gotten a kiss from a guy like that. Don't stop."
The continued kissing, and suddenly the door opened and Kennedy was standing there.
"Willow, I didn't get to see you bef"”what are you doing?" Kennedy asked, "How could you do this to me?!"
"Kennedy, I'm sorry."
"No, I'm the sorry one." Kennedy said as she slammed the door and quickly walked away, trying to hide the tears from her eyes.
"Kennedy, wait! Please wait." Willow had given up hope. It's never easy to see someone your in a relationship with kissing another person. It had to hurt.
"I don't know what to do." Willow said.
"What are you waiting for?" Xander replied, "Catch up to her, and tell her how you feel."
"Okay, I'll be back."
"Hurry before she does something stupid!" Xander called out to Willow who was already running down the hall.
It was about three o'clock in the afternoon and Kennedy was sitting in the middle of the cement parking lot crying.
"Kennedy, I'm sorry."
"You don't need to apologize, it was my fault; I came on too strong." Kennedy replied with tears in her eyes. "I knew it was too good to be true."
"No Kennedy, it was true, I mean it is true. I don't know what to say. I don't think I'm cut out to love a woman."
"Can we still be friends?" Kennedy asked.
"Of course." Willow responded.
"Good. Now we ry need to get some rest. Do you promise you'll actually sleep this time?"
"I promise. Can I walk you back to your room?"
"Actually, I think I can walk by my self. I just need some alone time now."
Xander was fast asleep on his bed, snoring his head off.
"Goodnight Xander." Willow said softly.
