Time to discuss season six's premiere episode Bargaining, parts 1 & 2

What are you feelings on this episode? Did you notice any changes, considering this was the beginning of the UPN move? Did you think the scoobs were justified in bringing Buffy back?

Let's keep it going guys! 🙂

The sixth season was not my favourite, but I loved the season opener! It was such a huge change to the rest of the series, It was so dark. I loved the Willow resurrection storyline and seeing how incredibly powerful Willow had gotten.

I love the scene where the scoobs fend off the attackers, and Willow and Tara use there magick to help with the fighting, we hadn't really seen that before.

The opening scene is excellent, I loved how they had "Buffy" there, that was a nice confusing start to the season.

yes i was like what... buffy is dead... she isnt alive.... i knew there was some sort of twist there.. but.. i have to admit i did get to the edge of my seat in confusion and excitement lol... it was alright.. it was great how they made it seem like buffy was in hell as the demons on bikes decided to make sunnydale their new homes and trash the place... and the fact that dawn found buffy and bought her home and then spike was there... soooo adorable 🙂

this is my fave season opener...it had everything you could ask for...suspence, drama, action, confusion. i loved it.
my faveorite parts are, when Spike is babysitting Dawn, and he tells her he isn't going to leave her. and when Xander asks Willow how long she's known that her girlfriend was Tinkerbell...lol, that made me laugh!!
i also loved the part where Anya shouts 'We've already been looted! try another store!' or something to that effect.
i loved the Buffybot...the way she repeated everything the gang and said in one long breath. and spoke in that really uber-cheery voice. loved the part where she says her feet are broken! and Spike trying to make her sit down the the Summers' living room!
the opening scene is probably my favorite of the ep, where they're all chasing the vampire, and Tara says 'I thought the big ones were supposed to tire quicker' and Spike says 'No, that's over the hill shopkeepers' and the camera turns to Giles all bent outta shape and breathing heavy! lmao!
i didn't think the demons were up to much...would have preferred something a little scarier.
wasn't there a big debate about one of the lines said by one of the demon-types? something about raping Willow or Tara and the networks tried to get it banned, or deleted from the ep or something? (haven't seen this ep for a while. currently on S4 working my way up to it! lol)
i remember reading/talking about it here.

Well I like season 6, and Bargaining I&II are one of my favorite episodes.. A lot has changed since season 5. Like BEG said this is a very dark season. Though the beginning of these episodes is not so dark, or actually it is, but everyone is trying so hard to be glad and live as before, but the pain from Buffys absence just gets more and more noticeable. And it is painful to see, and even if it's present all the time there are small moments that just makes my knyta sig i magen, like when Buffybot hugs Dawn saying "You are my sister", or Spike saying to hw won't leave her to get hurt again..

The first time I watched this, I was so mad at the scoobies, not for the actual bringing her back, but the way they talked about it. I was especially mad at Willow, she just felt totally selfish to me, like she says herself later (in Tabula Rasa I think) they didn't bother to try and find out where sha was 'cause they didn't want to know..

The demons I don't like at all though, not very interesting. Though the vamp in the Hanson t-shirt is hilarious.

Hm, you mean this line: "We're not gonna fight you. We're just gonna hold you down and enjoy ourselves for a few hours. You might even live through it. Except that certain of my boys got some...anatomical incompatibilities that, uh, tend to tear up little girls. So, who wants to go first?"? I remember that being debated too..

season 6 is my ultimate favourite season and this was the only opener that i loved from the beginning and still do. i liked how it set up the season for willow, because it is the first time we see her using big magics when no one is being hurt by the arc villain. a lot of it was sweet and funny, but there was also lots of suspense and darkness, which also set up how dark the season would be. my friend was actually watching it with me and he kept complaining, 'why does everyone think buffy's so bad that she'd be in hell? wouldnt she be in heaven?', and i was saying that it was probly because she died mystically and the rules changed. but he was actually right! oh the irony! 🙂 i have more to say, but im kind of busy at the moment, so ill be back 😀

I liked Bar. Pts. 1&2. I noticed that this episode was a little darker than some of the earlier Buffy episodes. I don't know if it would have been this dark if it had stayed on the WB. I thought this season opener set up the 6th season really well. It prepared you for what would be the darkest season of Buffy to date. I think Joss and co. took a big chance with season 6. I think it was a way for them to announce that Buffy was growing up. I think it was also a way to keep the show evolving. Season 6 was not my favorite season, though I don't hate it the way some people do. But, I think this season, and therefore this episode, was necessary to get to the lighter 7th season. Good opener and good episode.

Well considering that Season 6 is my favourite Season, Bargaining pt 1 & 2 is not one of my favourite openings. In fact I really disliked it! I don't know why but I don't get the warm and fuzzy's when I think of the Season opener I just think it's blah, I can't pin point one thing that makes me dislike it I just would chose another one over it.

I did however like parts of the episode, I love the Buffy bot bits at the beginning, especially when she's repeating back the knock knock joke! That is amusing! I also like the bit with Dawn on the top of the scaffolding with Buffy I thought that was cool, and spike trying to put the buffy bot back together, but the bits in the middle... nah not for me. I thought the Demons were lame, I hated the way they drove everywhere on their bikes, I didn't like it when they smashed through the pot thing, when they were trying to ressurrect Buffy, and I really didn't like the fight in the alley! I know I'm sad!!! I guess it was because it was so dark, and I always prefer the light amusing eps.

I agree about the demons. They were very lame. I usually fast forward through those parts.

I like though how we see Buffy come back to life in her coffin. Very creepy.

yeah, the demons were the sole only part i didnt like. but, there was too much general good that made up for that. in my opinion at least. another thing i liked was some of the willow/tara moments, no matter how small. for instance, the one at the beginning, or the one where tara finds her with the light. i love willow/tara; they're so sweet together!

Yeah I totally agree about the demons too, everytime I see it I just wanna fastforward over the parts they are in. But in a was they are also necessary, they at least needed some kind fo mayhem demons to make Buffys awakening even more painful and chaotic for her..
