I can't believe there's no thread about this one! I thought this episode was really creepy with the voice over from Angelus:

Passion"¦
It lies in all of us,"¦
... sleeping, waiting.
And though unwanted, unbidden,...
... it will stir, open its jaws...
... and howl.

It speaks to us,...
... guides us.
Passion rules us all...
... and we obey.
What other choice do we have?

Passion is the source of our finest moments:
... the joy of love,...
... the clarity of hatred...
... and the ecstasy of grief.

It hurts sometimes more than we can bear.
If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace,...
... but we would be hollow:
... empty rooms, shuttered and dank.
Without passion,...
... we'd be truly dead.

What do you think of what he says - I think there's a strange amount of truth in it...

Jenny Calander - what did you think about her?

I really liked her - it was great to see Giles have that sort of story line, and she introduced a different side to the school as well. Obviousy she was also very beautiful and perfect for the part!

Well there we are - thoughts anyone?

Good post, clearly took a fair ammount of effort!!! lol
I really loved tht episode, i dont know if i agree with what he says, i cant understand the concept of passion, maybe im too young or something lol but i did love the ep and jenny calendar i was so sad when she died and i felt really sorry Giles, he was heartbroken but once again she wasn't properly mourned in my opinion it seems like the only people who are are the ones close t buffy e.g. her mum she got an entire episode and i hated her because she sent angel away, which did turn out good in the end but i still hated her lol!!! bit OT and OTT there!!!

I loved this ep, it's one of my favorite. I felt to bad for Giles finding Jenny that way. I think it really took something that evil to make Buffy realize that it REALLY wasn't Angel anymore. Angelus's voice over was fantastic, and yeah there was certanly truth to that.

yeah that's true it did make her truly realise that he had reverted to Angelus, that there was nothing of Angel left. One of the final scenes where he's watching Buffy and Willow through the window as they get the news of Jenny's death - that's really eerie

Xin Rong - There was a bit by Jenny's grave with buffy and Giles - which was them mourning her sort of, it was really sad that part. 🙁

This episode is one of the early BtVS finest. It was pre Becoming part 2 and it showed what the writers could get away with. It's one of my all time favorites because it was one of the first episodes that showed how remarkable a show BtVS was going to be.

Plus I liked Jenny *tear*

Surprisingly, I didn't like that episode. Yes it was good and intense but I could think of many better episodes.

I didn't agree with the voiceover, either...

I love that episode. I felt so sorry for Giles. I think it took that episode to make Buffy realize that it was really Angel anymore. I believe some of the voiceover is true. but not all. I have part of it as my signature.

I don't like this episode in some ways because of the horror that was Jenny's death. It totally bummed me out when Angelus killed her. And what sucks even worse was that none of Giles future relationships seemed to light him up the way she did...

I totally agree.
this is one of my fave eppys! its welll set out i really felt sorry for giles finding jenny like that! 😡

Personally, I think it was one of the best episodes made. Yes, terrible things did happen, but it was such a powerful thing, really made the Scoobies look human.

I love this episode!! Its an incredibly strong episode. It's one I'd recomend to someone who had never watched the show before.

The emotional level in this episode, in my opinion, was only every really reached again when Joyce died. The reaction to Jenny's death was heart felt and everyone reacted differently.

The action was fantastic. Buffy's anger proved too powerful for Angelus to compete with. And it was only her love for Giles that saved him.

I felt incredibly sorry for Giles. The storyline was such a sad one and it was incredibly well done!

I agree with you completely, jennys death was so powerful, i agree with everything you said.
Thisis one of the two of my favorite eps!

I don't think it's creepy at all, the voice, I think Angel/Angelus has a very dark yet romantic voice and it had the prefect narrooration for the episode because it really portrayed how he felt.

I think he has a ramantic and passionate (duh!) voice!

I loved Passion i seen it the other day and i cried agian, So creative how he kills her and leaves her for Giles to find, Such firey vengance Giles tries to create. It was an excellent episode one of the best in the Buffyverse

Passion, such a great eppy poor Jenny! 🙁 Yeah I liked the poem it went with the whole atmosphere and mood of the eppy.

I loved the poem and the episode, and i agree that passion is one of the best episodes in the buffyverse

AMAZING!

I think it is one of the best Buffy episodes. It's so raw, and really can get you emotional. And also, an episode that gives you goosebumps is a good one.

I loved this episode too.

When they got the phone call that jenny was dead and you just see buffy slide down to the floor.....it was soooo emotional.

I love the voice over too.....I thought it was very different and kind of a cool thing to do with the episode.
