Passion vs. Seeing Red

Passion has all the right things to make it such a classic BtVS episode.

I wholeheartedly agree with you here. Passion is a total standout episode to me from the early seasons, and probably the show in general. The Angelus voice-over was beautiful, and I still quote it all the time. Excellent dynamics between Angelus, Buffy, and Giles as well... I just love so much about it!

Hmmmmmmmmmz... This is a hard disscision. But I had to vote, and so I voted for Passion. Because Angelus was part of it, and he narrated it, then it was very sad. Like when Willow and Buffy got the call about Jenny, I started crying. And I loved Giles's little revenge mission he took on Angelus, and for a few minutes I thought he coudl actually beat Angelus lol. And then I loved how Buffy steped in and punched him in the ally. Very awsome eppy. And ofoucrse Seeing Red was cool to because it opened a door for Willow and her other side :hihi:

Passion Passion Passion

There is no argument that they're both dark episodes. But I'm going to have to go with Passion. I loved that episode and what it was about. I liked how the writers used this episode to make it abunduntely clear that Angel isn't Angel and he isn't going to look deep down in himself and overcome the odds and take control back over his demon. I also thought it was better written and put together than Seeing Red. :shinner: :shinner:

I'm gonna have to go with Passion because it's one of my fav episodes of all time. i just loved the voice over and Jenny's death and everything about it. there wasn't one thing in that episode that i didn't love. Angel's voice over was brilliant! he said everything perfectly and he said all the right things! it's just wonderful!

Passion "shocked" me a whole lot more then Seeing Red although I find both quite disturbing. I can watch Seeing Red now and then completely dismiss it without another thought. I find it really hard to watch Passion as it upsets me so much. They way Angelus set up how Giles found Jenny shocks me so much more then Spikes attempted rape [which still shocks me]

Both are very shocking episodes, to lose someone is very painfull and you can see the pain in these two episodes. :winking11

I would have to say Passion.

It was more emotional than Seeing Red. We genuinly (or however you spell it) fear for Jenny and are on the edge of our seats to see if she will make it.

You really feel for Giles cos here is a guy in an unknown land all on his own with a duty to the world and the slayer. The Jenny comes along and life isn't so bad until, she betrays him and his world collapses. We see a glimmer of hope for our fav couple (next to Willoz and Spangel) until she is savagely murdered.

Seeing Red was sad too because like Passion Willow and Tara made up and were blissfully happy until Tara was taken away from Willow.

Giles revenge attack and then the alley scene with him and Buffy were sad.

Seeing Red definitely. But I might be biased because I've started to watch BtVs with S3, Ann, (it's actually after watching by chance the very end of S2 when B kills Angel that I've been like wow, I want to watch this show).

I've watched the early season afterward but it was not the same I guess. Plus Seeing Red is the triggering epi of Dark Willow, & that was really aweful, how T dies, & how B is shot at, even more since it was not a demon, but a plain stupid guy!

This why I would choose 'Seeing Red' over 'Passion'. Not many people can have the love of their lives killed by a psychopath, but a random act of violence can hit anyone and that was what killed Tara. A random act of senseless violence.

Both are well done episodes, but Tara's death always hits me in the gut. The way the sounds come one after the other (i.e. gunshot, window breaking, splattering of blood, 'Your shirt') gets me each time.

it's "passion" for me. it was beautiful and touching and angelus' presence was priceless, so dark and haunting. and ty king's poem was... wow. i absolutely love it. all in all, it was such a dark and powerful episode, almost every other scene cut so deep.
i didn't feel as much in regard to "seeing red", i really didn't. i understand tara died and all, but... that just lacked the same effect onme i guess.
