A history of my pets. *grin*
Raelle: A tortie. Probably the bestest cat you could ever hope to have. Gorgeous, loverly cat. Had her from when I was born until she was like... 12, I think. Very old, sweet, loving cat. Had very Elvish looking ears.
Eldor: Also a very Elvish looking cat. he was Raelle's brother. He loved it when Dad sang "If I Only Had a Brain." Alas, he ran away when we were out of town (when I was really little) and someone was watching them.
Sebastian: Bernese Mountain Dog. We got him from some Amish folks in Lancaster, PA when he was a little puppy. He thought he was a lap dog, even when he was BIG! (I love Berners, btw, and someday hope to get another) However, he needed a lot of attention and mom was having trouble giving him the attention he craved and needed, as well as taking care of all the kids and homeschooling them, so we gave him to my aunt. She lived by herself, so it was great. Alas, she went to Africa for a school trip (she's a teacher) and the person watching them put out some kind of poison thing, and poor Sebastian ate it. 🙁
Purple Cat: Tortie. Originally named "Rachel" by my brother, but it didn't stick. We got the name from picture book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" Stuck up queen cat, but we love her. Alas, she got really old, and was hit by a car. >_>
Samantha: An absolute dearling of a kitty. My kitty. Grey tortie, lovely, lovely kitty. Hit by a car as well. 🙁
Bluebell: Another grey tortie, nowhere near as great as Samantha, but still wonderful. Alas, another car.
Mousecatcher: Yellow striped kitty. We got her as a kitten and she's such a sweet thing. We named her that because when we got her we were told she'd be a good mouser. It was true. 😉 She's always been a really slender cat, no matter how much she eats. She stays in shape. 😉
Heather: A collie. Got her as a puppy on my birthday. Such a sweet, energetic girl. (They were tri-colour, collies, btw, not sable) She ended up with epilepsy, though, so we had to give her phenobarb for it. Unfortunately, that gave her liver failure, and we had to put her down two days before my birthday about 10ish years later. 🙁
Sage: A collie. Heather's sister. She mellowed out quite a bit after Heather left. And yes, we named them after the herbs. She was just put down last year... she got really old and sick. *sigh* Close to my birthday, again, as well. 😛
Sparkle: Grey tortie. We didn't name her, mom saw her up for adoption at our vet's office and fell in love with her and begged Dad to adopt her. We still have her. She and Purple Cat had their... issues... 😛 Their egos clashed. 😉 But she's still fun.
Buster: Black dog of unknown breed. Named after Buster Kincaid from Star Trek: Voyager's Captain Proton. He was one insanely energetic puppy and we had to give him away due to where we lived because he kept chasing cars and we didn't have a way to keep him confined to the backyard without putting him on a line and he hated that. He's much happier now.
Spot: Grey kitty with a white spot on his throat. He adopted us when he was really little, and I begged and pleaded with Dad to let us keep him. Dad finally relented and I named him Spot both after the physical spot, and Data's cat. 😉 He was great, until he got hit by a car. At one point we had 4 cats and 2 dogs. (Purple Cat, Mousecatcher, Sparkle, Spot, Heather & Sage)
Tamarindo: Also called "The Creature." A grey striped kitty who is absolutely insane and an utter spaz. About 8 months now, and we got him in November. My husband and I adore him even though his main goal in life is to sleep during the day and flip out at night. 😉
Oh, my brother also has had 4 birds at various points:
Sam and Rosie: Two budgies? named after Sam and Rosie from LotR. Alas, they were sick when he got them and died. 🙁
Chewbacca: Another budgie. Got after Sam and Rosie's untimely death. Alas, he too was sick.
Spike: Given to my brother by a patient of my dad's. Came named Spike, and it cracks me up. He's a cockatiel. My brother just got him sometime last fall, and the bird doesn't talk yet, but apparently my bro wants him to be able to say "Oh, scupper, look at that barnacle!" (This is my 18yo brother who is just crazy. 😛)
Another brother had a beta fish, but I forget what his name was. 😛
*whew*
Well, that's less long than Seraphim's! 😉
