Petition IDW to recruit Bruce Timm!

In my mind, Joss Whedon & Bruce Timm are tied as the two best prolific TV writers/producers.

As we've all lamented, IDW seemingly has only ONE proven Angel writer (Lynch). So my solution? Get Bruce Timm!

Now, sure Bruce is a busy guy, but something tells me he's an uber-hardcore Buffyverse fan. After all, the male leads in his film series have been at least 40% Whedon alum (Boreanaz, Marsters, Fillion, Baldwin, NPH). So I couldn't see him turning down an opportunity to write for this franchise.

And I would be shocked if he wasn't amazing. He wrote Conroy's Batman winning multiple Emmy Awards. And he wrote Boreanaz' Green Lantern. This is the guy we need in the Executive Producer chair for IDW's Angel.

I'd say Joe R. Lansdale might be the best fit out of their lot. His writing was the most Whedonesque of the DCAU crew, imo. The reason I say Timm is because he's worked with all of the living male leads of the Buffyverse except for J August, Tony Head & Nick Brendon.

Timm's a good writer. And since his recent DVD Franchise has combined his writing with Boreanaz, NPH, Marsters, Baldwin, and Fillion's acting, I haven't missed any of them.

In terms of them, I'd recommend Justice League: the New Frontier (starring Boreanaz as Green Lantern & NP Harris as Flash) and Wonder Woman (starring Nathan Fillion). They're very entertaining.

But just to show Timm's writing/producing chops, I'd recommend "Perchance to Dream" (Batman: the Animated Series) which is just a 22 minute episode which is very solid.

Timm's strongest works (but longer) are:
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm which Siskel & Ebert ranked as one of the greatest Batman productions ever made.

Superman: Apocalypse... NOW!

Batman: Return of the Joker

I'd rank those last three among my 25 favorites of any genre.

Ah i've got Wonder Woman, only got it due to seeing Rosario Dawson and Nathan Fillion it. I really need to get around to watching it.
