Pets or No Pets

I am about to upgrade the boards, so we wanted to get your input on it. We have noticed a performance lag because of the loading of the pets. So we thought we would put it to the members whether or not to keep the pets.

So its have the pets and have the pages take longer to load, or get rid of the pets in favor of quicker loading time.

I think that you should not have the pets, I dont even know whats there for, and I think alot of others dont either. Plus my computer takes ages to load.

The pets are fun and cute, but I'm really not bothered if they aren't here anymore, cause their only purpose is 'cute'. And if it will speed up loading to lose them, that seems like a good trade off for losing the 'cute factor'.

Maybe you can just have add an option, which ask us individually to show pets or not. 'Cause I imagine, my 56k-modem friends are bothered by slow pages, but I have cable and for me it's no problem.

I don;t mind. I love the pets but if they are causing problems...

The pets are just for fun - there is no purpose.

I think making them an option to view or not may be beyond m abilities but I will look into it.

The pets are cute and all, and I like them, but they really don't have a point....So if it means faster loading time, I'm fine with getting rid of the pets....

I have a pet, but it doesn't really matter to me whether they are kept around or not.

I like the pets. I think it's unique for a board. Personally I haven't seen any other board with that feature. I just really like it because I like having my baby's name there.

They are unique and would rather keep em. But if it is going to slow down the speed for so many BB users then I will vote to get rid of them.

I like having them, but its not exactly a life changing experience without them...lol...I vote no pets...sorry Nemo!

I think that if it causing a problem for some users than you should go ahead and disable them. They are cute but not necessary.

I didn't add them back during the upgrade pending the results of the poll - why take the time to add them if the vote is no?

I'm usually on a fast connection, so I haven't really noticed anything, speed-wise. Pets are nice, but not really what I come to the Board for. I wouldn't really "miss" my pet if it weren't there.
