Are there any fans here of Philip Jose Farmer? I loved his "Riverworld" series, and the various re-writings of various other authors' characters ("The Case of the Peerless Peer," "Time's Last Gift," "The Wind Whales of Ishmael," and "The Other Log Of Phillius Fogg," among others).
 
I've liked Phil Farmer for a while...though it's a long time since I've read any of his stories. Back in pre-history, when I devoured anything and everything that was vaguely SF, he was a favourite. I think I'd like to take a look at his Wold Newton stories, which appeal to my liking for the steampunk genre. I don't recall reading any of the Riverworld series...though I'm sure I must have done at some point as it's such a famous SF series 🙂
What I didn't realise, as I quickly read through his entry on Wiki 😉, was that he is now 90 (I thought he had died 🙂)and lives in a city that I've been through - Peoria, Illinois - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yeah, I just discovered that he was still alive too. Being an old Tarzan and Doc Savage fan, I first discovered him in the double book "Lord of the Trees," and "The mad Goblin," back way too many years ago. Then I tracked down "Time's last Gift," and finally "A feast Unknown," and by that time someone had told me about the Riverworld series and several of his other books. I hadn't read anything by him in a long time until I was going through some of my old Navy junk and found some of his old stuff. I'm re-reading "Lord of the Trees" now and finding out that I had forgotten most of it.

The Wold Newton Universe has grown since the last time I was on the site, and I had forgotten that there were actually other authors who wrote in it.
