I looked and I didn't see this thread anywhere here. Sorry if it has already been started.
Does anyone here have any extreme phobias? Ones that go above and beyond the simple 'ick' factor and actually make you scream or have nightmares or anything of the like? I do! Several, in fact! Haha.

Bugs of any kind, especially spiders. Every time I see a spider, I scream at the top of my lungs, and run into another room as fast as I can. I've injured myself doing this. I'm horrified of spiders. NEGYUH!

Clowns - Can't see their faces, can't see their true intentions. They give that creepy giggle too much. What's with all the make up, why do they need to look so fruity anyway? CLOWNS, CLOWNS, IT MUST BE CLOWNS!!! 😛

Sewage drains - I won't walk over them. I always think something is down there and will grab me and pull me under. 'We all float down here...'

Dummies or dolls that blink and talk - It's just..I...what? Why? I saw a dummy, it gave me the wig..There really wasn't a story there.

I think this all chalks up to me being a WIMP! Lmao! Destination: Wimpville. Population: Me. 😛
Come on, guys. I shared mine, tell me all your deep, dark fears. I won't use them for evil...Well..probably not 😛 I need to know! 😛

I totally agree with you on spiders and dolls
Hell yeah for IT quotage! Am I thinking that the clown phobia and sewage phobia may be connected somehow? Yes. Yes I am!

My biggest phobia is spiders. I really can not stand them. Ask anyone from Australia about spiders and they will definitely have huntsman stories to tell you. Gross. I saw a massive one in my bathroom a couple of weeks ago (probably the size of my hand) and I let out a blood curdling scream, ran down the stairs and had full blown panic attack which turned into an asthma attack. In primary school there was one in the classroom and I passed out and fell back in my chair.

I also don't like small spaces. I don't know if it's a phobia exactly, but they really terrify me. I went caving once when I was 12 with my class and had an asthma attack and a bit of a freak out.

I'm sure they are, haahah. When I was 3 or 4 I saw it...I remember running out of the house screaming and bawling.
I don't know if I have a PHOBIA, but I dislike open water, and also heights. I think that both are linked to traumas I had as a kid.

I had a mild case of social phobia but I got much better. My relationship with strangers is kind of odd now. If I'm there for a reason, I don't mind strangers and but whether I talk to them or not depends on the reason I'm there for. If I know they share similar interests (or at least some similar interests like in elective classes), I'll talk to them. If I'm dragged by my friends to a party where I only know one or two person... uh yeah, then you'll see me start to hyperventilate.

I don't like clowns. Well, I hate clowns. I warn them when I see them that if they get to close, I will hit them. But I don't have a phobia of them. I just hate them and will hurt them. I always give them fair warning. I've only had to hit one. I punched him in the face...and then he apologized to me for getting too close. Apparently, they know that if someone says "I don't like clowns" they're supposed to stay away because it's such a common fear.

My sister has a HUGE phobia of bugs. It's gotten better, but it used to be TERRIBLE. One time, after a swim meet, we were headed to the car and Maya started screaming and she fell kicking and screaming and crying. Turns out there was a butterfly on the car. Another time, we almost got into a really bad wreck because mom slammed on her breaks when Maya started screaming and crying because she saw one of those really tiny mini ants.

The only insect I freak out over is dragonflies. I hate dragonflies. They should go extinct. Seriously, if I found out the dragonfly was extinct, I'd throw a party. I hate them. They're creepy and ugly and scary. Also, I don't like things that sting, but that's not irrational... it's just normal.

caitaintdead agrees: Awww. I love dragonflies. I have a giant dragonfly necklace.
I don't mind the cute fictional dragonflies... The ones that are all girly and cute and stuff. The ones that look like cousins of the butterfly.... but the real dragonflies look NOTHING like those. And they're mean, and they're ugly, and they're scary, and they're awful and they should all die so the only image anyone sees of them are those cute fictional ones and they become what dragonflies are. Because as it stands now, those cute fictional ones are NOT dragonflies. They are fictional distant relatives on the dragonflies.

I still maintain that they're super pretty! Their wings look like fairy wings. I love seeing them in real life. I was going to post a picture of a really pretty one, but I thought it might freak you out, not convince you that they're cute!

Don't do it. Back in 2003 I posted a bunch of Tim Curry-in-clown makeup pics in a similar thread to this one.....and to this day I am a hated man around here for that. :p:p

I am so glad I wasn't around for that, O.M!! lol
Heights, but that's not so bad. I have an extremely irrational fear of raw meat, especially raw chicken. Years ago, when I was about 11, my mother asked me to feed our dog and I spilt his raw chicken all over the kitchen floor. My mum fully flipped and started yelling that we'd all die of salmonella because the blood was everywhere. I was traumatised and have never touched raw meat with my bare hands since. My mum goes on about how I'll never be able to cook without touching raw meat and then I tell her it's her fault I'm scared of it. I wash my hands too much, and at one stage so much that it made my hands dry and cracked and bleedy. I'm really scared of germs, and chemicals that can kill me. That's why I never enjoyed Chemistry.

You poor thing! I, too, suffer from a germ phobia. My hands are usually cracked and bleedy because of my handwashing.

Bahaha, advice taken on board! I've actually heard about this 'incident' before!

I see my evil deed has preceded me. AWESOME! :D:p:p
I hate spiders, but I think I'm getting better on this front. I'm now able to fetch the vacuum myself to deal with one, rather than getting someone else.

I also really dislike ventriloquist dummies. They're so creepy... with their eyes and their smiles... *shudders*

Oh, vacuum is my best friend against spiders too!
I am afraid of the dark and I always have been. I can usually handle it if somebody is sleeping in the same room as me, but otherwise, I have definitely sleep with a desk lamp on. I can't even really walk around my house at night if all the lights aren't on. I'm afraid something might be walking behind me. I've quite often slammed my door at night because I wanted to make sure nothing would reach out and grab me at the last second.

I'm also afraid of something grabbing my leg when I get into bed. This is probably due to my sister actually waiting underneath my bed and grabbing my ankle when I was, oh, 6 years old? I was not happy. Oh, and the Suns Gorilla did the same thing to me, only he was under a table at a sports game. I might have accidentally kicked him. Just a little.

I also dislike open bodies of water, like Zalos. In fact, the idea of flying over the ocean gives me the creeps. I don't think I'd be crying the whole way, but I would definitely be snappy towards any traveling partner I might have.

I'm also afraid of drowning, but I don't think that's a phobia. Or I guess it could be. But yeah, that is NOT how I want to go out! LOL!

I'm usually not big on the whole fear thing. I've no problem with snakes, spiders, heights you name it. But I f**cking can't stand wasps. I'm such a huge fail around them. I'm usually mellow gal but with them around I'm lame-o screaming gal.

I hate clowns. I just hate them. There's nothing funny about clowns.

I'm also afriad of those porculan dolls.. they have glassy eyes and when you look in their eyes, it's just creepy.

I'm also afraid of hights, but I can take it.. the thing I can't take is dark. I've always been afraid of it.

Clown hatred karma
Spiders (though that's gotten a lot better since my childhood, was defo a full-blown phobia when I was little), dolls, and anything that even comes close to implying eye damage (I still can't stand watching a certain BtVS S7 scene, and hate that it jumps at me randomly in "previously"!!!).

What's with all the clown fearage? I loved clowns when I was little... and I still haven't forgiven Stephen King and Tim Curry for ruining that fond childhood memory for me. Sadly, you can't "un-see" Pennywise. :sigh:

I Hate Insects and Small Spaces ( I Also Hаνе A Small Case Of OCD )

I hate clowns. I just hate them. There's nothing funny about clowns.

I'm with you there. I also think dolls are creepy, I only ever had one when I was a kid and I was terrified off it.

I used to have agoraphobia, I wouldn't say that I don't have it anymore but I've worked a lot on making it less severe.
I have problems with small spaces and more unusually I have ovinaphobia for which I am endlessly mocked by my friends 🙂
