Hey, a few here say or imply that they know a lot more about how the celebrity world works (far more than me anyway) and I was wondering what the deal was with all the actresses holding dogs?
I'd think actors with dogs would be more common (one of the few things a guy can expect to get a pass from crying is if a dog dies, even in a movie, and all that humor like the bumper sticker that says his wife said it was her or the dog, and he's going to miss his wife, so it seems more natural to me to pair them together), but offhand I'm not thinking of any (I'm not counting genuine home life where pets are naturally present). Are those common as well and I just missed them? If not, why primarily the females then?
I really am JUST CURIOUS. This isn't meant to be a soapbox about anything.
I did ask my mom, a former model, before asking here. She doesn't really know, but her GUESS is that since animals (that is, their owners) get agents as well, including through modeling agencies, then it could be impressive on the "resume" if the dog was pictured with a human celebrity. That is, it's not about helping the image of the celebrity (though no doubt whatever the actress wears will contrast nicely with the dog for both their benefits), but of the dog, and many agencies that also act as agents for celebrities have a lot of strings they can pull to make it happen. She wouldn't know why most would be pictured with female celebrities, assuming most are (I don't know that for sure, and she doesn't keep up with celebrity gossip either).
