OK, so I want to get my nose pierced, but all I have done at the moment are my ears, and they are fairly sensitive to metal, if I wear anything other than 9ct gold (or better quality) they hurt, and eventually scab (gorgeous mental image for you there 😛).

If I get my nose done, is there more chance of this happening? I don't want it to get really infected and me to end up with a scar on my face.

Are there any of you out there with a metal sensitivity that have their nose done? I've asked around my friends, but none of them have the sensitivity that I do.

To branch this out into a more general question...
what piercings do you have?

I would imagine you would get the same sensitivity anywhere that you had pierced to be honest. Just get a gold stud and clean it regularly.

I have two piercings in both ears and my belly button, used to have my lip pierced but had to take it out due to Uni commitments. Would love more but can't at the moment.

Maybe this is something you should talk to the piercing artist about before going through with it, just to be sure. As far as piercings go, I'm not a fan of the whole needle thing so none for me.

I'm pretty sure that as long as you use the same metal that you have to use on your ears, in the nose piercing then you should be fine. But I'd ask the piercer first, just to be sure.

I've just got my ears done once for now. Used to have the belly button, but I'm pretty sure I've mentioned here before that my Jack Russell accidentally tore it. So no more of that!

I want to get a few more ear piercings. Been saving up.

If I wasn't married to a guy that hates a lot of piercings I would totally have my tongue and my left eyebrow done too.

I love getting piercings and tattoos. It's like, one of my favorite pastimes. Yeah, I know I'm weird.

My boyfriend is 100% against me getting my nose done, eek!

I so want to get another tattoo!
I have my lobes double pierced, the cartilage on both ears pierced and my tragus on my left ear. I want an industrial bar on my right ear and a nose piercing.. but my sister (who has all the same piercings as me and those two) said I'd be copying her... even though I wanted it before she did. I think I'll do them both when I can not be at home

Silly silly sister. :(
I have the simple little-girl type ear piercing... one hole in each ear, very basic. And I don't wear earrings a lot because my ears are pretty sensitive and react badly to metal. I would love to branch out to my lip, but I have the same concerns you do about sensitivity that.

So I'm gonna settle for dying my hair some exotic color and that's that. ^^

Well, since my school uniform policy people lifted the bans on hair color, that could be a very real possibility. ^^

I went through a piercing phase...had my ear lobes. My upper ear, my nose, my lip and my tongue. After awhile I took them all out except my tongue one - which I took out soon after my 30th birthday cause it was time to grow up (ha!). Now I don't wear any piercings...and I'm still not grown up! What gives? ;-)

I've got six so far. Two in each ear lobe and one in the cartilage of each ear. It's a bit too symmetrical, although the cartilage piercings aren't in the same spot on each ear. To odd it up a bit I want two more in my left ear, one in the lobe and one in the cartilage. But I haven't got around to it yet. I have enough difficulty with what I've got.

I have extreme sensitivity in the cartiledge of my ears. I had an industrial and two dif cartiledge piercings and they all ended up closing. I got my nose pierced in Jan and havent had any probs with it (although you have to keep sunscreen away as much as possible.) Also, as a note to anyone whos interested, industrials are really painful. Ive had 8 other piercings and a tattoo in my life and none were even close to the pain the industrial was. So to sum that up, you gotta want it.

I have my belly button pierced. I got it when I was 17, back when I idolized Britney Spears, lol. I tried taking it out a few years back and it never closed, so I just put it back in. I had my tounge pierced for years, but I had to take it out for a play I did. It was set at the turn of the century and the director was all about the "authenticity".

I don't have any piercings, but I do have an metal sensitivity. 14k or better or else my skin gets red and itchy and I start breaking out. But I have a little sister with the same affliction. She uses the hard plastic for lip, and wood for her gauged ears. So maybe you wont even have to go with metal jewelry.

I have three holes in each ear, my belly button, and my eyebrow pierced. That's all the piercings I want so I'm done with them now, tattoos are a different story though. 😉

Same happened to me. I left it out for well over a year but it just wouldn't close.

To be completely honest if you're that worried about a mark being left then you shouldn't get it. Simple as that. I know a lot of people that got piercings when they were teenagers (I was in the pop punk scene after all) and most people have been left with incredibly noticeable marks from their piercings. I got my tongue done and tunnels so I was lucky I suppose. I know my job would be jeopardised if I had marks on my face.
