Couldn't believe there wasn't a thread on this!!! Usually BB is all over new movies, we're slacking I tell ya 😉

Jokes aside though, it came out last Thursday, been a weekend and some... what'd everyone think? Was it good, bad, better than one? Two? Your fave so far? What about a forth and fifth pirates?

Spoilers will be ahead, so be careful when reading if you haven't seen it yet 🙂

So whatd'ya think? ???

great job for this thread!
definitely my fave moive of the trilogy...my fave movie of the year, so far. i can't imagine anything topping it any time soon.

it was fantasically funny, and extemely well acted.

hands up, who saw that ending coming? i don't mean Jack, i mean Will.
happily ever after endings sometimes aren't all they're cracked up to be, so i loved this ending! they got their happy ending, but not in the traditional sense! it was bloody brilliant!! lol

Piartes 4, i'm not so convinced on. i mean, i'll difinitely go and see it, 'cause there would be no way i'd turn sdown the chance to see Captain Jack again!
but this movie was so good, in my eyes, i'd be scared of them ruining the whole thing.
plus, the Will and Elizabeth ending was perfect for them...if there ever was a Pirates 4, i can't see them making an appearance, and if they did, it wouldn't be a huge part.

one question...did anyone stay for the little scene after the credits rolled? what did everyone think of that?

omg the end end was perfect...so cute how he comes back and sees them on that hill!
Loved it. Way better than the second. Loved all the Jack Sparrows and again he got a hilarious introduction 😀 So many funny lines.

I haven't watched it yet but I'm more than willing to watch really soon. I'm sure it'll be fantastic!

Gonna watch it the day after tommorrow, and come back here to tell you all exactly how amazing it was.

I'm watching it online, right now. Not impressed so far. Maybe it's the kind of show you have to see in the theatre.

Why the hell would you settle for a bad camera recording? There are some movies you just shouldn't do that with.

I liked the movie, it was fun. Not as good as the first two, but definitely enjoyable, a tad too long. Kiera Knightley was SO AMAZINGLY SEXY in this movie. Especially on the beach at the end. Mmm-mmm good.

Some are cam shot, some are screeners, some are DVD rips, some are so good, I don't know where they get them from, but I sometimes suspect the production companies put them up themselves as part of a viral marketing campaign. Well actually I think it's all a form of viral marketing, but they make you work for the good stuff.

All I know is if the movie companies are going to allow it, I'm going to take advantage of it.

Just got back from Cinema and I have to say I thought it was Fan-bloody-tastic!!!

Definitely my favourite one so far. It had action, adventure and a million Jack Sparrows!!! How can you not love it?

It was okay imo, but I definitely the second movie way more. There was way too little hot pirate Keira in this movie, heh, plus I didn't find Jack half as interesting as in the previous two. The only character I liked a bit better was Will, I guess.

Was okay. Didn't dislike it.. It was just the least good of the three in my opinion..

Does Kiera not have the most perfect skin tone ever? Gah she is so freakin' beautiful.
apparently, there are scenes after the credits in all of the movies...i just happened to find out this time because the girl i went with is an even bigger Pirates fan than i am. too bad i lent my copies of the first two movies to my friends, so that they can catch up before they go and see the new one! lmao

the first movie has the monkey becoming a zombie again. This is why he was a zombie in the second one. [or at least, from what i saw of the second one. I was watching it late at night and fell asleep and have to go back and finish it.]
Personally, the first one is my fave. And as of right now, AWE comes second. I haven't finished the second to form an opinion.
I'm going back to see it on Friday with my buds..because I just watched the first one again, and the second for the first time, and it might make more sense. And, my best friend wants to see it, so me and my friend nichole, who i went to see it with the first time, want to take her. haha.

I agree, heh. There was parts of this movie that I really liked (eh, even though I can't come up with examples at this moment, but that's just because my brain hasn't started working yet), but yea still my least favorite of them too.

There were parts that were amazingly awesome and there were parts that were confusing and there were parts that sucked horribly.

I wasn't really jazzing on the whole ending with Will/Elizabeth. I never really gave a damn about them, especially in this movie. Poor them, dealing with TRUST ISSUES. I very much so don't care, let's move on.

Jack was HILARIOUS in this movie. Loved him. But then again, let's all take into account there really isn't a damn thing Johnny Depp can do to make me think he ISN'T AWESOME, so.

Also, WTF with Tia Dalma? W. T. F. I felt seriously gypped.

And, of course, all the allegiance switching. It got seriously freakin' confusing, and not to mention frustrating. That was the whole reason why I wasn't so hot on the second one - the story was moving entirely too fast for no other reason than they needed to fit more action into the budget. How many damn times can someone switch sides in one movie? RIDICULOUS, I SAY.

Other than that, I thought it was pretty cool. Though, I will say, nothing can beat the first one. The last two just pale in comparison.

I've been making a study of the 3rd entry in a series - Spiderman, X men, James Bond, etc - and there seems to be this tendency to want to throw in too much consequently losing touch with cohesion. Concept is piled on concept without any need to make the logic of one line up with that of another. Consequently one gets the sense reason doesn't matter, and you're just supposed to groove on the interesting bits, rather than connect with it as a whole story.

The exception seems to be when the series has a finite number of parts like Harry Potter.

^ Just saw Spider-Man three and can really agree with you there N4H..

Randy Giles agrees: Does Kiera not have the most perfect skin tone ever? Gah she is so freakin' beautiful.
Hah I gotta say I've never thought about her skin tone 😛

I went to the very first showing(s), at midnight, so my judgement might have been impared, but i thought it was ok, not that great. I def liked it better than the second one but I dont think either of them top the first one.

Some movies I just think do not need sequels.
I can't say for this one.
As I haven't fully watched the second movie,
But good movies that are okay with one installment
get trashed when you bring in extra installments.
Which is why, usually, I won't go see the second movies.
The Ring Two sucked WAY too much.
And I wont even go see Shrek 2, The Grudge 2, or others..

Im annoyed they appear to be making a fourth one. They should keep it as a trilogy or they will ruin it. Im also annoyed at how it ended (really ended I was just told about the bit at the end of the credits) They shouldnt have bothered with that.

Just got back from seeing it.

Was entertaining, Johnny was awesome as usual...but I didn't like it as much as the first two. I don't know...a little too twisty in plot and abstract for my liking.

Was a fun way to kill a few hours. And the scene after the credits was definately "awww" worthy.
