Pixar has teamed up with online learning site Khan Academy to create a free, interactive online course.
The purpose of the course is to get students excited about learning the math and science behind their favourite Pixar movies. The courses uses examples from real movies such as Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and Wall E.

Lectures are given by Pixar animators and split into different subjects like environment modelling, character modelling, animation and rendering. Each subject also follows a lesson plan, which ensure that they are well rounded.

My ex-fiancé (ugh) was an animator for a very well known games company. Anyway, he would make little animated characters at home in his spare time, just like this. It was thrilling to watch. So much work for something that's (mostly) taken for granted.

I have spread the message on another website and have received thanks for it. It looks like this is a popular course. I used to work on glass cockpit displays and the training in rendering would have been quite useful for programmers and managers alike.

That is really neat. Kudos to Pixar and Khan Academy. The interactive questions/answers section is a neat feature too.
