I'm going to see a Pink Floyd tribute band tonight called, Great Gig in the Sky...just was wondering if anybody has seen any good rock concert/pop or any other type of music concerts lately...

I saw Modest Mouse about a month ago and I might be seeing The Pixies this month too! (My friend might take her sister instead of me! 🙁 )

There were some shows this month but didn't make it to them...Motorhead got cancelled...Lemy broke his foot or something, The Cramps, Circle Jerks (boyfriend bands! lol)

Buffy Summers-I have heard about Snow Patrol but I'm not familiar with their stuff, glad you had fun though! Have they been around for awhile?

The Pink Floyd tribute band, Great Gig in the Sky totally rocked. They put on a four hour show and did an amazing job. Sounded very authentic. The lead singer was rockstar hot too! Mmm...the second half of the show they played the whole, Dark Side of the Moon album. They had lights and groovy pictures on stage too, I had a blast! If you ever have a chance to see them (??) I highly recommend it, tickets were a bit steep but well worth it. I do believe they are a Phoenix band but do travel around...
 
I saw The Vandals last week, very good show, the pits for their shows are always good. Going to see my favorite band, Flogging Molly, in Vegas next month and they always put on like two hour sets. I'm friggin excited.

They are an Irish band, they just released their third album in the Spring which was the first out here in the US. I just heard one of their songs on the radio here for the first time yesterday. They are really good - the show was sold out.

I haven't seen any rock concerts latley, but my sister has. She went to a Rush concert in Chicago. I got mad because I couldn't go...
 
I went to see Bon Jovi a few years back and loved it. They were supported by Matchbox 20 and their perfomance was good.

A few months back I went to see The Calling, excellent gig. Diversity of crowd members and was surprised that there was a bit of mosh pit going on at the front, I got caught in it and it wasn't pretty. Great gig though!

snow patrol is great! they have had some vid s on MTV nordic...

i hven't seen a show in a while, when i lived at home i went to conserts alot(my lil bro and i had some friends who played in bands-2 in all... amanda dank and mandark... ) last show i saw was a year ago, christina aguilera, and foo fighters a year before that 😉

but i might go and see Sahara hotnights here in oslo in oct with my lil sis... they're sweedish and they rock!! (www.saharahotnights.com)
i got their 3rd album for my b-day....
 
Mrs. D and I went to see Bruce Springsteen, REM, and John Fogarty in Detroit last night. It was part of the "People for Change" concert series, supporting Kerry/Edwards in 2004. As I'm not American, the politics was lost a bit on me...(not really, I'm a political junkie, but I wasn't there for politics)...but the music was smoking ! Michael Stipe (big hint here for killertrivia!) and REM were just bloody amazing (first time we'd seen them). The sound was balanced, and crystal clear. Bruce came out and sang a couple of songw with them, then did 2hrs, with REM and Fogarty helping out, and doing old CCR songs. Then for the fianle, the Dixie Chicks came from their show across town and joined in on the finale People Got the Power. What a show! But damn, I'm whupped...I'm no spring chicken...but I like Springsteen/Chicks....
 
Blimey KD - that sounds like a show and a half. Saw a piece about Springsteen and REM on the morning news but I didn't realise that John Fogarty was there as well. I think if we'd known then we would've stayed in the US a bit longer for that show, as I like REM and Bruce and Mrs P is a big Creedence/ Fogarty fan. Let's hope it has an effect on the Youth of America - well their votes anyway 😉 Actually, it's more likely to have an effect on the middle-aged of America given the acts involved 🙂 I'm willing to bet that you and Mrs D weren't the only Canadians there either - fancy taking advantage of those poor rock stars and then not having an American vote. Shame on you!😉🙂
 
You're right, lots of Canuckleheads at the venue. We had a hell of a time getting the tickets, since officially, only Americans were allowed to buy 'em. But hey, they got the money for the campaign, so I don't think they really minded. We only picked them up on Saturday, made quick arrangements and scrammed to Detroit yesterday afternoon. I'm now officially running on coffee and 2hrs sleep! And actually, there were a lot of younger folk there...late teens/early 20's. I think they came for the politics and stayed for the music. A whole new generation of Bruce recruits. We were hoping for Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne to show up too, since they were playing another benefit for the same group just outside of Detroit, but no show...and to have a lot of regret for missing that is just greedy, right? Best moment:Fortunate Son by Bruce and Fogarty..."I ain't no President's son..."
 
BTW - jealous much 😛. Sounds like it was well worth missing a bit of sleep...

You know it, brother!!!! And to think Mrs. D had to talk me into going...whatta girl! Oh, and did I mention we were only 5 rows or so back in "the pit"? Standing room, but we could see everything...stubble, sweat, bad teeth...but in a good way...😉
 
I saw Evanescence in February. Best. Concert. EVER.

I also saw Projekt Revolution this past summer, with Korn and Linkin Park and tons of other salty goodness. Didn't stay for LP considering I'm not too fond, but Korn kicked some old school sh-t. I kinda loved it.
 
I'm going on a road trip to LA to see FU MANCHU on October 21...seeing a Fu show that night and another one on on the 22nd...then I'm coming home on Saturday and seeing Alice Cooper on Sunday the 24th....whoa! Should be a blast though, I'm really excited!
 
Oh my god! When I was the music editor for the college newspaper my freshman year of college, I got one of their CDs sent to us for review. (yay free CD). I've never met anyone else who knew who they were lol.
 
Fu Manchu rocks! Luv 'em! 🙂 I'm totally stoked to go to the concert! Listening to them right now, "the mongoose flies"! Do you like them?

Last night I went and saw a band called, Eagles of Death Metal. They totally rocked too, it was a lot of fun. I think a member/members of Queens of the Stone Age are a part of that group. I think Josh Homme plays drums for the album, he wasn't playing drums at the concert although the drummer from Danzig was...that was cool!
