I'm aware that's a lame title. I feel geeky now...

Anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone played any instruments and if you do play which ones they are. I wanna learn the guitar and piano. Oh! And the ukulele. The uke rocks. (GO JULIA NUNES!)

So, start a postin'!
 
I used to play the clarinet, but I'm sure I've forgotten how! Lol! Now I just sing!

I wish I could play the guitar or the piano!
 
I played piano and flute as a child but don't play as much now, whenever I visit my mum I have a tinker on her piano but that's it. Last year whilst I was still unemployed, I did take up bass guitar but the furthest I got was playing "Eight Days A Week" by the Beatles!
 
Played the trumpet in *cough* marching band *cough*. I later picked up a bit o' the guitar, but I'm really not very good. Like not at all. I do rock at Guitar Hero though! I'm hoping it helps me in the whole actually playing guitar department. My husband is amazing. He can play anything with strings and can pick a song out by ear the first time he hears it. He likes speed metal, so he's always "shredding" away. It's so cute, because our little girl has a toy guitar, and she'll go in his room with it and say, "Play some music, Daddy". I think the other day they were working on "Leper Mesiah" by Metallica.

From 5th to 7th grade everyone at my school has to play the flute (except when they're in the music tutor group; there they can chose one wind instrument freely), so there you go. Although I'm sure I've forgotten most things again. I still know the basic stuff but that's it.
And I know a bit piano. Well, I know where the keys are and can play easy songs.
That's what I got out of school music 'til 13th grade (at the end we were only 8 students who took that subjects because it's not compulsory anymore)
 
When I was a kid, my father taught me how to make wooden whistles and flutes. I can blow in it, but whether or not what comes out depends on how charitable the listener is.
 
I had a scholarship for clarinet in high school but I havent played it since. Cant say that I miss it really. My little sister plays just about every instrument, If you get really good at one then others are much easier to pick up. (mind you she primarily played the tuba and found it difficult to read treble at first! Pretty much everyone I know has the opposite problem with reading bass!)

Just the piano. When I was little I wanted to be able to play something musical, like the flute or something, once I saw Disney's Peter and the Wolf and heard the music on there :blush:. I tried the school music after-school classes they offered, learninh flute, then violin, then something else...but I kept getting really distracted and just wasn't picking it up.
And then once in the Musical Drama club (Yes, my elementary school had a musical drama club. I think they were getting ahead of themselves, haha) when we were sat in the auditorium I was just sat on the little stool next to the baby piano and for some inexplicable reason started playing 'London's Bridge is Falling Down' on the keys. Repeatedly. It was the only thing I knew how to play and so the teacher got so fed up with hearing the same song played over and over and over again she went to my Mother 'Take her to piano lessons. For the love of god, let her learn something else' or something to that effect. So I started learning piano. Of course I hit my teens and went 'Pfft! I'm so not going to piano lessons!' because well it didn't fit with my cool high school persona apparently, haha. And then I got to college and wanted to be able to play again (fickle I know) and so started practicing in the rec room in my halls which had this grand piano- so pretty!- and picked it up again.

I'm too busy now to play as often as I'd like, but I still can and I enjoy it lots when I do. A friend of mine has mad skills with the saxophone; I love hearing her play. And her instrument sounds so much cooler than mine....:sigh: haha
 
I played flute my first year of band in grade school (4th grade). When the rental came up on the flute I switched to clarinet as I found a used one for sale. I played the clarinet from 5 grade through 8th grade.

I can sort of play the guitar, though it's been years since I've tried cause I'm really self conscious and my hubby is ALWAYS home when I am. And I can sort of play the piano, but I really have to WANT to learn to play the music or I get bored and don't learn.
 
I played the clarinet in middle school band and loathed it. Convinced my parents to let me quit because "marching was killing my knees," and it was (Osgood-Schlatter), but I also just hated the instrument! I've got a fife kickin' around somewhere that I pick up occasionally, but I don't know how to play it. Tried to learn guitar from my dad, who is is a musician in his spare time, but in the end I decided I liked my nails more than I liked guitar...
 
I can play the piano a little, but seeing as I have absolutely NO sense of rhythm, I'm not that good.

Also played in my church's bell choir while I was in high school, which is pretty neat. It's like trying to play one big instrument with 10 other people at the same time!
 
I've been playing the saxophone for about nine years. I primarily play the bari sax, but I occasionally play alto, tenor, or soprano. I'm in my school's concert and jazz bands.

I also play the guitar and bass (self-taught, and I've been playing for about four months.) I'm not great at the guitar; I can't play many chords, though you'd be surprised how many songs you can play using only barre chords. I'm much better at the bass (still not very good at it, but I guess I'm alright, considering the fact that I'm self-taught and haven't been playing for that long). I can play songs by some bands with tricky basslines, like Rush and Yes, and I can make up some solos. I'm considering getting lessons, since I want to read more sheet music (I can read some, but I'm used to treble clef, so it's tough) and I really want to get better at slapping.

I can also play a little bit of the clarinet and drums, but not a whole lot.

I wish I could play the piano, and I really wish I could sing well!
 
I can play the piano. I stopped actual lessons when I was in 10th grade, but I can read music, so I can play anything, I'd just have to practice it for a while before it would sound good.
 
I can play...like, two Evanescence songs on the piano. I'm having issues with playing with both hands. I know mostly vocal lines, but I can play the intro to Hello and My Immortal pretty solidly.

Other than that...I got nothin'.
 
I used to play the trombone....well, for a year when I was 10. I guess I can sorta sing, in that way that I'm not too bad with imitations to sounding like songs but I can't read music to save my life anymore...one day I'll try that whole thing again.
 
Back in junior high school I played the Alto sax for two years. But my knowledge of playing that thing has been lost to antiquity.

I'm very adept at STARING at musical instruments, though. 😛 I have a Quattro guitar and a harmonica that my dad gave me years and years ago, as well as a Yamaha keyboard I bought which just sits in a corner, all untouched. One of these days I'm gonna have to get up off my ass and actually learn to PLAY those damned things......
