Hi everyone, I really need to ask you all a favour in brainstorming ideas for a presentation I have to make in 10 days time. The brief is this: a ten minute period to teach the rest of the group anything you like. Previous teachings have included icing cupcakes and making the perfect cuppa. The only problem is I dont have any hobbies I can teach and so Id like some help, if you will. I'd really appreciate it

Research a interesting subject that people probably know very little of but would like to know more off.

I think I did a piece on wicca once.

It depends what kind of a person you are, if you like fashion you could teach people to customise clothes, if you like glamour you could do a make up tutorial, have a look at some videos on youtube for inspiration.

If you have a pet you could do an item on pet care.
You could stick with the recipe idea, if youre really creative you could do something like "the perfect 3 course meal in under ten minutes' you'd have to be really organised for that and have several already made dishes to account for oven time etc.

You could teach people how to make jewellery, or if you know any different languages you could do something on that - that has the potential to be quite funny if you involve other people by asking them to say things or have a conversation.

You could teach people basic sign language, how to say hello and spell out their name.

I assume a lot of this is already on the internet so it's not like you need to be proficient in it yourself, just prepare well and make detailed notes.

Why don't you just do something silly and fun? What is the presentation for? My mate did one for a media course in university and someone did social stereotypes (back then it was emo, but now you could do hipster?). Or you could do something on Buffy?

Take inspiration from someone like Jenna Marbles and do something like a tongue in cheek 'how to look good at parties'.

If you're artistically inclined you could so something like 'how to read a book' and just sit in front of everyone and read a book.

You can definitely photoshop the shit out of things - why don't you get a projector and show everyone your photoshop skills? You could do something like ask for a volunteer, take a photo and then photoshop their face on to a variety of different silly bodies - bodybuilder, fat person, clown makeup etc.

I did a presentation very much like this recently.
For mine, I showed how to make tea out of pine needles. (I do this all the time, and I really enjoy it. It's actually is very good for you, with about 5 times as much vitamin C as a lemon.)
It's a pretty easy thing to do, but of course you'd need a stove or something.

I did this too! My piece was on the correct way to create "Victory Rolls" lol.

I stood in front of the class and fixed a volunteer's hair.
