I was educated on drugs by my unconventional parents, and it made the rebellion and taboo of doing drugs really mundane. I didn't see kids doing drugs as cool. It was more like pathetic desperation to be cool rather than any actual desire to get high.
In my country there needs to be more done on the dangers of alcohol, as a drug. I long stopped caring about the differences in illegality of different drugs, since booze kills so many people here yet is constantly celebrated and glorified as the 'good drug'. But yeah, those lectures about the dangers of illegal drugs just pointed out hypocrisy and made me feel distrust towards the teachers.
