Buffy-Boards and her sister boards (After-Darkness, Roswell-Boards, LOTR-Boards at DestroyTheRing.com and Britpack.com) are starting a Cancer awareness project. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by this disease, whether it's ourselves, a family member, or a friend. In the coming months, the staff will be bringing you information on prevention and education, and how you can help those with this disease.
In conjunction with this awareness project, we are going to be raising money for Chris Daddio, who has been recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease and who has no health insurance to pay for his treatment. Chris is a San Francisco-area musician (he played with the Fingers and Spanish Johnny's Opera) who also helps out producing and generally lending a hand to other local musicians. In the event (and hopefully) we raise more than he needs, we will donate the remainder to Cancer research.
So the staff is asking for your donations, if you are able to. This is completely 100% optional and voluntary. You don't get any special status on the boards, but you do get to help a good cause. If you are under 18 please get your parent/guardian's permission first. We don't want anyone to get in trouble, even for a good cause. Anything you can give is terrific, no matter how much it is.
Anyone that donates $1 or more will be entered in a raffle to win a prize (which is still to be determined). Be sure to include your username and mention Buffy-Boards with your donation.
I have set up two paypal accounts for donations. Paypal charges a fee for credit card transactions, so we have set up one just for those. If you are transferring funds from your paypal account and not using a credit card, please use the one for cash so we do not have to pay a fee on it.
