I just want to say one final thing guys.

Alot of people have said how sad it is that we have been "forced out" by the certain sections of our community. This isn't true. We aren't being forced anywhere. This is Lyri and I refusing to accept the type of treatment we (and the other staff) have recieved over the last several months. This place is our home, that doesn't change no matter if we are here on not.

We will not accept the treatment we have recieved from members here, because of the position we are in it unfortunately means we need to extract ourselves from BB. This is what is best for us and the boards right now.

However, I implore the great members that we have, the people who love this place as much as I do, who want to see BB restored to the haven of fandom that it was, to refuse to accept this treatment too. Work with the mods here, because quite frankly they are amazing and they want to work with you. They want to make this place the best it can be. Stand up for this place, the mods can't do it on their own.

Don't let the name calling, the rumours and general nastiness go unchecked. Fight back, the right way.

This board is amazing, now lets prove it.

I have been taking a break from the boards, so I just want to say a few things before I go again.
It is really sad that this has happened, but not only that, it is pathetic. I don't like bullies, I actually loathe them. The need to offend, hurt and ridicule another person is disgusting, to do it in a place where you don't even have the guts to say it to some one's face, is pathetic and spineless. If typing insults at a person is how you find some happiness then feel free, but we shouldn't have to put up with it, and neither should Kean and Lyri.
Buffy, please lose these people now, ban them, or name and shame them, it doesn't really matter, they are all pointless, and have no place here.
It is sad to say, that I do think Kean and Lyri will leave, no matter what happens. Lyri, I didn't get to know you very well, but you were a great mod and were excellent at your job, and you really do need to stick with computers. I trained in graphic design for 5 years, and don't even come close to matching some of the work you produce here. Mad skills. 🙂
And Kean, well you're a sweetheart. 🙂 Very kind, sweet and funny, and again, fantastic at your job. Who will I knacker talk with now - do you still wanna buy that gate? 😀

Good luck to both of you, stay cool, stay happy, and I wish the best for you both. You will be missed.

Lyri is like a big sister to me! How anyone can even think let alone post something bad about her is simply incomprehensible to me. She is one of the sweetest, most caring people I know and for her to have left because of what was being said lets me know that it was bad because she's also VERY patient.

You can say what you want about freedom of speech, blah, blah, blah but at the end of the day what you're doing is abuse and is pretty much against the law. I don't care how frustrated you are about whatever the heck it is that you're upset about but no-one deserves what you did to those 2 wonderful people that are now leaving. They would have never done that to you!

To Lyri and Kean, you two are amazing and I am sooo sorry that this has happened to you.

Lyri, you are my big sister in everyway and I love you to bits. You've been there for me when no-one else was and I appreciate it more than I could ever say. You're amazing and I hope that you realise (as I'm sure you do) that you are soo much better than the people who have done this to you.

Kean, I didn't get to know you very well but I have still seen the kind of person you are and you're also amazing. I'm sorry that this has happened to you.

The people who are saying and doing the wrong thing and I don't know who you are but seriously DON'T! You wouldn't like it if someone did it to you and the 2 incredible people you have succeeded in driving off certainly don't deserve it. Grow up and find something better to do with your time other then insulting people who genuinely care about this place and the people that are here.

Wow. Just wow. I'm too tired to think. Just came online for a few minutes before bedtime. Or so was the plan. I haven't even had the energy to read everything in this thread. So I can't write a long or good post how I feel about all this. All I can say is that I'm incredibly sad to see this happen. Although not intentional I know I have at least played one part in all of this. Feel free to start throwing fruit or other suitable things. And I can't say how sorry I am for that. I hate to see you both go and I wish you every luck in your future what ever it will include.


That's all my brain manages to get out at the moment. Sorry for that. You both and the rest of the mods/admins deserve so much more.

Lyri, Kean....'bye.

I don't think either of you know how big a loss this is going to be to me. "What Would Lyri do?" (and to a lesser extent, "What's the opposite of what Kean would do?") has practically been my motto in the short time I've been here. I've always looked up to the pair of you (and in my mind you always will be a pair). Kean, from the days when I was sure your name was pronounced Key-a-noiyt, I've always known to look out for your posts. You know I'd never admit it, but you've almost turned me Bangel a few times over the years. To see you go, and to lose your constant vigilance as a moderator is tragic. You were always there whenever something went wrong, and it's going to take a good three of us to even attempt to replace that omnipresence you managed to achieve. You've made me laugh, and you've made me think - two more admirable qualities in a person are hard to imagine.

Lyri, put simply, you've been an inspiration. My 3am trawls through your art threads have given me the spark for my very best work, and for that I thank you. I would say I was jealous of your talent, but I know better than that - you've worked damn hard to get as good as you are, in all areas of board life. The time and dedication towards making these boards a better place that you've gladly given us is astounding.

I'll miss you both.


But the cost that this is going to have for the boards is even greater. The sheer amount of work you have both put in, and the projects you juggled, if not effortlessly then at least capably, between you cannot be replaced. But don't you dare feel guilty. No-one should have to deal with what you both have faced, and I fully respect and support your refusal to do so. All I can say is this: Thank You.

100% what cait said... this really comes out of left field for me. I have no idea where all the mod-bashing is going on; I was very happy with how the boards - from what I saw at least - lately were all back to being the nice and friendly place I signed into a bit over a year ago. Guess I was wrong.

It is a sad day, indeed. I've never had much contact with Lyri, but I never had a bit of doubt that she, like all of the staff, was putting loads of hard (and good!) work into the site. Same goes for Kean, with the addition that I'm gonna miss her Bangel-posts too (which, even though I rarely agreed with them, are something I find the boards hard to imagine without). The boards truly won't be the same again after today. 🙁

I don't know who the ones causing this situation are, but I'm certain the boards could much rather have done without them than without L&K.

I remember reading things about some people being rude to staff members, but I've never seen it. All I do is hear about it and it makes me sad. I'm pretty new to these boards as a member, but I am/have been a staff member on some message boards before and I know how much effort is needed by every staff member. Whether or not a member likes that staff member or not, they should respect what they do and how they do it for the members, for them. It's really sad to hear, and I really don't like to know that people are this way, but they are and it's upsetting. Kean and Lyri, I'm sorry to learn what happened to both of you but your decision to resign is your choice and understandable in this situation. Enough is enough and when you volunteer your time, you shouldn't have to take the crap you're getting.

WOW.... I logged on to let my friends know that my surgery went much better than expected, only to be blown away by this news...
This is very sad to me. 🙁 The work that Kean and Lyri do here is a LOT and this is going to affect so much about this place. I wasn't aware that there was a huge issue going on, so I feel like I've missed out on something important... I really hope that this can be resolved peacefully and that Kean and Lyri won't have to feel the need to leave. 🙁

I agree with Joshua Underpants - I want to know what's happened to cause this. I generally see this place as a forum and don't let what's happening on here affect my feelings in the real world... but this has actually upset me.

I agree. If anyone should have to leave, it should be the troublemakers, not the victims. As it stands now, we've lost two very valuable, not to mention popular, members of the Board, but the troublemakers remain. That's kinda like throwing the sailors overboard and keeping the rats. If that sort of logic persists, it won't be long before the rats are going to be running the ship.

I have only a few things to say, One Lyri and Kean you guys are going to be missed so much more then you both could imagine, and even though I really wish you both would stay because you are both so great to talk to expecially in merrick and you bring so much fun and life to these boards and Lyri hun if you go i'd miss your artwork something aweful.

and my Second thing i need to say is.. I know i haven't been on the boards much since my son was born last June but i have been apart of these Boards for almost 7 years i think, and you know what I love these boards, They are the perfect place to come when you need to just sit back and relax, and i hate to see how these boards are turning out it almost makes me want to just stay gone. When i first joined everyone seemed polite and kind and thankful for what these wonderful Men and Women do in their free time... You know the mods dont have to do anything, hell actually i wouldn't blame them if they just gave up all together, But they stick in because they want to, And they try everyday to make this site better so that way when we come on here to relax we also have a good time. You people are ruinning that and these Men and Women deserve a hell of a lot better then what we show them sometimes.

So my third comment will have to be
Thank you to every mod or admin on this board and you know what Thank you too all the members who work hard to keep this place a nice place to come and take a break from the real world. You guys are simply amazing 🙂

A couple of years ago here in Georgia, there was a 16 year old girl who hanged herself over some of those "just words." Yes, there are stupid people wherever you go, and the main reason that they are is that other people, supposedly intelligent, caring people, either don't know, don't care, or simply choose to let them continue with their stupidity and cruelty.

The thing about this entire thing that chaps me the most, as I have said before, is that the perpetrators get to stay here while two wonderful ladies felt that they had to leave.

I hope I didn't insult anyone with my little tirade, but if I did, please remember this: it's just words.

And I'll probably have quite a few more to say at a later date.

This isn't MySpace, this is the farthest thing from that.
There shouldn't be any kind of drama.
Don't let an avatar talk crap to you, ignore it.
Someone has sent something mean to you through text, so what?
It doesn't matter if they meant it or not, you don't know the person and they don't know you.
Why would you want to let someone bother you like that?
They're only getting their way.
It's like letting a stranger talk crap to you and letting it soak in.
And then you end up deleting your account or whatever the case is, because you're hurt.
And guess what?
They win, not you.
