That seems like a pretty bald accusation against me. I'm unclear where anything was said in my above post against Buffy Summers personally.

It might help clarify the situation if you would quote specifically where you felt I was blaming Buffy Summers for anything.


ETA: I took great efforts to keep a reasonable tone in my above post. I'm trying to make peace and redress whatever perceived slights have happened in the past. That's tacky?

You would like to think your voice was heard? That is implying that, when going thru proper routes and stating issues you had with our negative opinion of *********, and presenting it to our Admin, that the Admin would not convey that to us.

That is blaming the Admin for 'creating' any harsh feelings. You KNEW the right thing to do, yet opted not to do it because you did not feel your voice would be heard, ergo, you are blaming the Admin for the potential that the 'bad' posts would continue.

I meant that my voice would be welcome and heard on the forum also since the topic has been raised in this thread. I was speaking directly to people who I believe have misconceptions about SA. That's less a commentary on the Admin (who I've spoken with before in private and feel no animosity or judgment towards, thank you) but more towards the attitude demonstrated on this thread. My voiced concern was regarding the anti-********* mentality. I fear that merely by my name being associated with SA that what I'm saying will matter less than who I'm associated with. What I'm saying will matter less than what I'm perceived as.

You're currently perceiving me as an attacker of the Admin. That's the very last thing on my agenda. Am I the enemy to you as well?


ETA: As for the "right" thing to do, I'm afraid they've yet to open a how-to course on Buffy forum diplomatic relations. I opted for being open, honest and frank.

What you meant and what you said are two different things; you were not speaking directly to the people, you were making a sweeping statement (sales pitch?) for all to read, that was another problem. Misconceptions? How is someone's opinion that your site looks tacky, has banner ads, etc a misconception? Or were you not speaking about all members 'misconceptions' but only one persons?

What attitude? That it was not liked? Thats not an attitude but an opinion. I think you are wanting to see smoke and fire where there is none, what anti-********* mentality? Its individual taste and opinion. Two said they did not like it, two said they did- that is hardly anti-*********.

Maybe if you worded your post alittle differently so it sounded like general conversation and not an advertisement for your site, it wouldnt have rubbed me the wrong way.

But again, if you took it directly to the Admin, as you stated you should have, all of this would be academic.

As you can read in my original post above, the only comments against ********* I addressed were about stolen ideas (I only discussed the topic of all ideas on SA being unoriginal). I even finished with an inquiry if anyone would share (perhaps in PM or email) some specific circumstances so I could right this perceived wrong. I have no interest in comments that fall into the bounds of personal taste. People have the right to their own opinion. The accusations of theft and unoriginality are my concern. I thought I'd made that clear.

This accusation has been running around for a while now. It had been addressed in the past by SA's admin (the mod responsible was removed from their office). Yet I find it still present on BB and I was hoping to address it directly. If people feel content is being stolen, please share this. I'm here offering to put myself to work fixing whatever past mistakes were done.

ETA: I'm seeking a mature resolution. I thought an honest appeal to the members here could lead to this. I'm not trying to stir trouble, but open up a dialogue. The idea behind this being that if you have a complaint, I may be able to offer a solution.

Our negative opinion of ********* is due to the fact that some of it's member came into *our* chat room and began verbally assualting our members.
Leaves a mark.

Judging an entire group based on extremist troublemakers who have been evicted from that forum... - well, the reason ********* is peaceful nowadays is because we took care of the issue so firmly. I hope your forum is looking at a brighter future as well.

I think I'm going to bow out peacefully here. Sincere well-wishing is being read as attitude. I'm talking straight here - no sarcasm. If by attitude you mean "sincerity", then yes. That's my attitude. We seem to be talking past each other here.

Drusillarox, you said that those members were the basis for your opinion of *********. I only countered with the fact that the more prominent members of ********* rallied in your defense a few months ago. I was blasted for weeks for cleaning our forum. I even came on here to apologize on behalf of SA for the fact that these individuals were associated with our forum at all. The bad eggs who trickled over here were followed by other prominent members coming in peace. So is the bad the only part that is remembered? Do the peacemakers not merit a footnote in this history?

It's absolutely disgraceful. This thread is for Kean and Lyri. Not *********'s little cheerleading squad that seem to be infiltrating the Buffy Boards.

So, yes - Kean and Lyri - they will definitely be missed. I'm going to miss Kean's pro-Bangel talk that has almost converted me, and I'm going to miss all of Lyri's beautiful art!
