In S5 when Lindsey pretending to be Doyle is talking to Spike in the alley after his first save Lindsey says At least you saved the first one, I hear Angel let the first girl die.

It's true that Angels first client that Doyle gives him dies, but Angel does save the first 2 people you see him help in the very first episode. Any comments?

Sure.
Easy in fact.
Tina was Angel's first Vision Quest mission.

Now Lindsey having intimate knowledge of these facts is another tale.

The first girl Angel was sent to help died. The two he 'saved' in the alley, he wasn't really planning on saving them, he was after the vampires. So the two girls were, like, a bonus. The first girl Angel was sent to help, via one of Doyle's visions, was killed. That's what Lindsey's referring to.

Agreed that "the first girl" Lindsay is talking about is Tina, who was the first girl Angel helped as an agent of The Powers That Be. And it's not really a stretch to think that Lindsay could have knowledge about this, since Russell Winters(who killed Tina) was Lindsay's client.

Superstar agrees: So he knew it was Angel's "first" exactly how?

He may or may not have known for certain, since he said "I hear Angel let the first girl die." Granted, they couldn't be sure how long Angel was in L.A., but this was the first event that put him on W&H's radar - so this is probably what they reference as the beginning of Angel's timeline in Los Angeles. With all the resourse that W&H put into learning everything they could about Angel(Angel's cabinets upon cabinets of history in W&H's Files & Records as mentioned in Season 3, for example), W&H and Lindsay may well have been pretty certain that this was 'the first girl'.

Again, none of this was ever explained on the show, but just my own assumptions from watching.

I think her name was Tina..or Tiny... :/
But yes she did die...................................

Oh, I thought it meant he met Lindsey in S1. Sure he "met" them as they came out to the garage, but I dont really think they were formally introduced. No Spike, Doyle, Doyle, Spike kinda thing. I could be wrong though..
