Plots that disappointed you

Are there any plots and arcs that started really exciting for you but then turned... not so good in your opinion? Were there plots that disappointed you?

The Potentials, it was a good idea.

But it had awful execution, it took up too much of the season and they pushed Xander, Giles, Willow and Faith to the back. They completely ruined Season 7, IMO

Agree with Caesar on The Potentials. It was a good idea, and to be ironic to it, it did have potential lol. But sadly i think it was very poorly planned. If there had been about 2-3 Potentials, i think the same story could have worked much better.

I'm not really sure what else. I think there were probably parts of every season that people would have changed. I mean for example Bangels will have probably of wanted a bit more of Angel & Buffy together. Or Spike and Buffy for Spuffy's etc lol.

Overall though i think The Potentials was probably the only thing i would have changed alltogether.

As much as I love AtS S4, I think that the plot could have been EVEN more awesome! It was getting better and better, and then that Jasmine crap, ugh! 🙄 Even though I wouldn't have wanted Angel being forced to kill Cordy, the storyline that was supposed to happen - if Glenn Quinn had been alive and Charisma not pregnant - could have been epic. Mirroring BtVS S2 and all. 🙂

To be honest the whole Dawn/Key plot confused me despite me totally loving the Glory Season. I mean it was like wtf did this girl come from, a sister was never mentioned before (unless you count Faith's cryptic dream/coma message to buffy as a hint) ad now she is in everyone's minds and somehow has always been there just not seen. it's a lot like Tsukishima from Bleach (I know it came before Bleach), he stabs people with his sword and they are like "we were always friends!" and even remember him helping out the good guys in major events when he wasn;t there. Plot/powers like those really trip me up.

Twilight: A good portion of S8 was extremely disappointing. Repetitive nonsense that ignored prior character development.
The potentials: Weak development and a horrible decision on Buffy's part. Plus the Scoobie's were no where to be found in the story.
The trio : Is it even possible for a big bad to be any more lame? Seriously...these clowns were around for a whole season!
Spike's chip Ugggh, really? Lets put a perfectly good character on a leash and turn him into Buffy's new lap dog.

Not really a plot but - introducing some outsides in the first episode of s7 that I thought would be Dawn's friends but were like never to be seen again. Generally the writers failure to give Dawn friends.

Plots that disappointed me on Angel:
Cordelia's ascension to be a higher being, not nearly made up for by Skip later scorning the very notion.
"Evil" pregnancy leading to Jasmine (I don't really mind Jasmine, just the evil pregnancy and possessed Cordy who was mostly cheesy and lead to the oh so horrendus "give mama some sugar" moment where she sucks face with the Beast. Like - why?)
