Omg, my lil bro was a huge addict of the show when we were kids and he got me into it. I only liked the first few seasons though. I also was in some TCG tourneys. Used to be cool, good memories. Never got into the games though.

My brother and I were so obsessed with Pokemon, lol!!!! 😀 I always loved the ones with fire. I wanted a baby Vulpix and evolve it to Ninetails, lol!!

Definitely Mew. It was so cute. Between Brock and Misty, gotta go with Misty. She was always sweet with the Pokemon! And, no. Ash should not have evolved Pikachu. That's what made him special. Pikachu was still strong even though he wasn't evolved 🙂

Anyone ever play Super Smash Brothers? I was always Pikachu and kicked butt, lol!!!

Awwwww Vulpix!!!! I loved that pokémon! I almost always evolved it into Ninetails too

and about SSB, I was always either Pikachu or Link lol

Lol, when I wasn't Pikachu, I was Zelda, but I switched to Sheik. My brother was often Link.
Did anyone go to the Pokemon store? I don't know if they had more then one but I know they opened a pokemon store like forever ago in NYC but I don't know if it's still around. I went when I was little and was like in aw of all the pokemon toys lol the gigantic pikachus bigger then me were pretty freaking amazing lol.

Love Pokemon - Am literally (like as we speak) in the process of typing up a national dex so that i can print it out and check them off as I try to catch 'em all. I started playing Pokemon when my kids were little and were playing it and talking about evolutions and pikachu and bulbasaurs and I had no idea what they were talking about so I decided to find out and began playing the game myself. We've bought multiple copies of all the games and are really looking forward to the new Black and White that are coming out soon (or sometime...) You are never too old for Pokemon! I always loved Eevee and evolutions. They make a great team.

Also, I think it's awesome that you've been playing with your kids. I wish my parents would have done that with me. It would have made talking to them about it so much easier! lol

Also Black n white looks pretty awesome, a lot better than heartgold/ soulsilver at least.

Really? I think the starter Pokemon look weird. And I like soulsilver. Silver will always be my favourite game. It's the first Pokemon game I owned for myself. My brother owned the rest.
 
I made my own Pokemon game once.
Pokemon figures popped up and you tried to shoot them down. 🙂

It wasn't really pokemon though, they just looked very similar. 😉
We called them Pee Kassu, L. Lay, Dip Shit, Tin Kee and P.O. I remember that but not their real names anymore lol.

Those annoying ninja frogs (read turtles) was also involved.

Lol, I'm actually playing the yellow version on my game boy again right now 😀

I grew up with Pokémon, they became cool here when I just started secondary school (you're about 10/11 then). I also collected the cards, but I gave them away to the younger brother of a friend a few years back...he was really happy about them, since Pokémon were still the coolest, although it was like 7 years later 😉 Also, I had some pretty rare ones.

^ This is so weird. All the kids shows I used to watch in German, and even those names they changed.
In Germany, those 3 fellas go by the names Shiggy, Glumanda and Bisasam. Pikachu was called Pikachu, though 😉
I can still sing the theme song and everything, but again only in German 😉

'My generation' was only really into Pokémon for the first 151 ones. I still watched the second season, with Togepi (in case it's not called that, that little one Misty was always carrying around, the one in an eggshell ^^) but after that it just kinda lost it coolness. To this day, only the original Pokémon count for me 😀

It's so funny that I saw this thread, a few weeks ago I saw my old binder of Pokemon cards while looking through stuff in the attic. I still have the first 151, and I think like half (?) of the second generation. I also still have my eight badges that I got from Toys R Us, back when I'd tag along with my older cousins EVERY Saturday morning. I know somewhere in our boxes I have the old toys from Burger King, you know the ones with the gold plate in the pokeball?

Haha, yeah. Good times! Then came Digimon (but fad died A LOT quicker than Pokemon), then Yugioh! Now Justin Bieber? Lol.

I'm glad to see that Pokemon isn't completely dead though, my younger cousin has all the new games on the DS and he collects the newer cards and watches the show. Which I don't believe airs on WB anymore. He actually likes the newer episodes and pokemon better than the old ones, which I understand. I think, what 10+ years, with the same 151 Pokemon would have gotten really REALLY boring. But dang, from what I've seen some of the new ones look really weird! Like someone ran out of their creativity juice. 😛

Charmander! I love him Charizard was awesome.
I love how Ash's Charizard never listened to him, but it did save him from the aerodactl in one episode. 😀

omg pokémon Stadium!!!!! epicness right there! I also played Pokémon XD i think it was on the gamecube. it was pretty decent and i like the graphics on it

Lmao ah man..I was the kid who used to steal everyones Holographs in class and sell them...I used to love it...I do remember playing the gameboy games too

Yeah, the one where you have to take photos of all the Pokemon. And some are really hard to get. I remember to get Charizard you have to knock Charmeleon into a volcano with an apple. 🙂
