Okay, I've been trying to figure this out and I was just wondering if anyone else knows. How many times has Giles been knocked out on the show? 'Cause that seemed to be peoples prefered method of taking him out.

lol! i know!! poor guy!
i don't know the exact count, but i know it's a lot! and he was even knocked out by buffy once!
 
That is Gile's thing. I can only think of three right away but I know it was a lot more times.

Revelations: Gwendolyn Post hits him over the head with something.

When She was Bad: He gets kidnapped by Absalom's flunkies and the next time we see him, he's unconcious.

Gingerbread: MOO chlorophorms(sp) him and then Cordy slaps him awake.
 
Prophecy girl is the one where buffy knocks him out.
Has anyone watched the season 3 out-takes where they do the Gwendolyn knocking him out over and over again it is so funny!
Oh I Love that one in Gingerbread, where cordy wakes up him and says 'You know one of these times you gonna wake up in a coma' (Not exact) So funny!

5.The Pack: He gets knocked out by the zookeeper guy.

Wow. 5 times in three seasons. I haven't gotten knoked out that many times in my whole life.

I found a web site about Giles being knocked out they list:

Never Kill a Boy on the First Date (by Andrew Vorba in the crematorium)
Prophecy Girl (by Buffy, to stop him from trying to help her)
When She Was Bad (by the vampires attempting to raise the Master)
Passion (by Angelus, after Giles attacks him for killing Jenny)
Becoming (Part 1) (by a group of vampires who take him to Angelus)
Revelations (by Gwendolyn Post, in his office)
Gingerbread (by the MOO mob as they come to take Buffy away. When Cordy wakes him up shes says, "I came over here to tell Buffy to stop this craziness and found you all unconscious"¦ again. How many times have you been knocked out, anyway? I swear, one of these times, you're going to wake up in a coma.")
Earshot (he doesn't get knocked out in this episode - but he does walk into a tree in a very amusing manner)
Flooded (by the Mfashnik demon as it breaks ino Buffy's house. Giles later says, "Well, I know I'm back in America now. I've been knocked unconscious").

Owww, my head hurts just thinking about that. You know, now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think Giles was knocked out one time in season 7. Wasn't he even knocked out in season 6 when Willow went evil?
 
He was also hit pretty hard in "The Wish" after investigating the truck and the vamps (before he met the wish Buff). He might not have been totally knocked out, but he was clocked.

I agree, Anita Blake. Poor Giles.
 
You know, I'm kind of surprised that Giles never got any serious brain damage. Getting knocked unconcious that often cannot be good for someone that age with no superpowers. 😉

I'm not 10% sure about when Willow went dark (but I seem to remember Anya waking him right before Willow 'destroys the world'... or maybe he's been concious... isn't he 'dying' at that part?), but He's knocked out in 'Flooded' (this one was just on the other day) and says something to the effect of 'Well, now I know I'm back in Sunnydale, I've been knocked unconcious.' after he awakens.
