I thought this article from EW was apropos... here's a bit of the article, you should read the whole article, its very interesting.

Chewbacca and Buster Bluth. Doctor Who and The Big Lebowski. Joey Tribbiani, Hermione Granger, Bruce Wayne, and…a dancing baby tree.
The world’s largest characters have become the tiniest toys, and they’re making the biggest impact on the pop culture zeitgeist. Funko’s Pop! Vinyl line — a series of TV and film character figures recognizable by their squared-off heads and black eyes — has landed on a short list of must-have collectibles of the modern era, though it was a long road getting there.

“We started off with five characters in the DC Comics line. I brought them to Comic-Con in 2010, and got a horrible response from our diehard bobblehead fans,” the company’s CEO, Brian Mariotti, recalls. “But we were getting all these unique people in our booth — mainly women — that had never been in there before. And I knew at that point we had a hit on our hands.”

Five years later, Funko’s Pop! collection boasts almost 3,000 unique pieces via licenses ranging from Star Wars and Shaun of the Dead to The Breakfast Club and Orphan Black. (Most recently, EW debuted the newest line: all six Friends, plus their pets.) The collection of 3.75 inch figurines stands out in the marketplace thanks to a whimsical uniform style, a fair price point (most retail for around $10), and perhaps most vital, a “something for everyone” approach to its offerings of TV, movie, and video game characters from both massive phenomena and offbeat darlings.

I want to get the Rumplestilkskin one from the Once Upon A Time set! But there are so many that I want, it's hard not to buy one every time I'm in Forbidden Planet or a shop called Geek-Aboo in Glasgow.

My girlfriend has bought a couple of these things. Dumbo and something from Beauty and The Beast. I must say I don't really understand why they're so popular at the moment. Big eyes and no mouths is just an odd look.

I can't find any for Trailer Park Boys 🙁 which is disappointing. I might start collecting these dolls, I really like 'em!

Look what I got today as a raffle prize from an FB group! My very own mini Spike!

Ooh nice. Kinda feel like he could do with a little guitar or something, but I like it.

These characters are like Betty Boop:

The facial shape is the same and those figurines with black hair only need to add curls and have eyelashes.

I have a few and i'm reluctant to get more as i'm not about clutter. I have a Thor, Loki and a Baby Groot. I however covet a Loki with helmet, Eric Draven, Captain Hook and a Green Arrow.

I got my French Mistake Cas one! I managed to get it while I was in America last week. I would like to complete the Supernatural set, but at the moment I'm not too bothered about doing it.

No doubt a year from now I'll have sooo many, but for now it's just 3 😀
  • Charlie Bradbury (Supernatural)
  • Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
  • Castiel w/wings (Supernatural)
I definitely want to complete my SPN collection, but it doesn't end there. I mean, BtVS, some from my favorite movies, would love a Stewie and Brian Griffin. Thank god I can actually afford it, cause I'd buy myself poor(er) if this was back two years ago when I so didn't have the finances for it.
