I was thinking we doing a most popular character tournament from characters in the Buffyverse 🙂
I chose characters that either impacted the series largely, are talked about a lot etc.
Round 1 closes Wednesday 4PM
PST
Basically you have 20 points you can distribute them anyway you wish but the maximum on 1 character is (+10)
Only 1 vote per round! Every characters starts with 10 points!

The top 20 will go through

I have no idea! I'd like to just say no to be contrary though... if that helps any. But I think the correct answer is yes.
Oh so I just wasted points going with the negatives? I wish someone would have had that in the rules. Sucks that you only get one turn and no one really explains the rules. I should have a bunch of points left over.

We can deduct, I guess, it said use however you want... I just figured we could go in negatives since, even if a character is at zero the next poster could put them in the positive point total.

Yeah, I thought the same after I'd posted. You're probably right. 🙂

EDIT: Although as it is working comparatively, and presumably the lowest won't get through to the next round whether there are minus figures or not, it wouldn't matter if everyone started on zero surely? Oh I don't know, I'm waiting for clarification. 😀

It just depends on how many participate. A zero or -9 in Willow's case, could in theory be vaulted above like a Fred or Groo if Willow fans start pouring all of their 10 points into it. That's why, in my mind, having and keeping negative values is an imperative.

We seem to have lost Spike and Willow off the list though, just to add more confusion in! I'm pretty sure everyone was supposed to stay and be kept for voting for (or against perhaps) until the end of the round. Perhaps the rules need deciding and the game restarting. 😛

You're welcome. I felt it my doodie to remove them from the game... even though I didn't actually remove them. I'll still take the credit for it. I like to do my doodie.
 
@PaulParmar1 It might be worth restarting the game with clearer rules so that people don't get so confused on how we're meant to be assigning points or whether we're taking points as well etc.

I've ran tournaments in the past, here's a few examples if you want ideas on how to run this one.

My biggest advice to you would be to make the scoring system simple enough for you to keep track of and update the scores regularly so everyone can see which character is doing well and who isn't. 🙂

Ha. I don't think it was intended as an immediate elimination like that though. The top twenty were supposed to be going through to the next round and it would mean that whoever voted first could have just taken out 2 characters straight up without any chance of anyone 'saving' them. I think @DeadlyDuo is right, this needs clarification and a restart. 😀

I know. That's why I had them going to minus in the tally. Just to make it harder for them to get to the next round. If I thought just zero would have eliminated them I could have knocked out Xander too!
