By current statistical beliefs there are now 8,000,000,000 people on this planet. How many have been taken to other planets are not known. The increase of population is currently growing at 200,000 a day. Given that some countries have a decreasing population growth pattern, USA, UK, Australia there's loads of countries who produce way more than they should.
In the year 2080 there is liable to be 10,400,000,000 people on this planet, given the climate control fluctuations where is the food to feed those people going to be grown. Will ants become a new food source, rates of existence for them are 4,000,000,000,000,000 (give or take a few noughts) (quadrillion)
As health care abilities are declining, forest fires are increasing, water availability is declining.

Question: As the sea levels rise and people need to live at higher levels on the mountains will the air become more readily breathable?

If we start eating the bugs, what will the birds eat! They will have to be farmed like cattle and then before long the protesters would be fighting for cricket rights too. So, bugs are not an option, any more than sheep are at least. Plus, we all know from @Anyanka Bunny Slayer spider experience, they are smart little creatures, capable of booby traps. They have just as much right to live as any farm animal!

Honestly though, the rate of growth in our region has been outrageous. To see it change like that and the quality of life reduce so significantly makes me appreciate the fact that I do not have to have children in this day and age.

Yes, spiders are evil little dictators. They should all die! 🥳

The only way to properly sustain ourselves as a society is to start colonizing other planets/celestial bodies. Humanity will inevitably overcrowd the Earth and use up too many natural resources to replenish at our current rate.

We genuinely need to start setting our sights on establishing living facilities on other locations. The moon is the obvious choice, but I know Mars has attracted much more scientific attention in recent years. In any case, we desperately need to find a solution within the next few generations. The technology is there, but our capacity to work together is leaving much to be desired.

Of course mankind will never overpopulate the Earth. Scientists are saying that the world's population will only(?) it might get to 10.4 Billion but the population will rapidly decline after that, as there will be nowhere to live. The rise in sea levels will keep growing faster as it has been for a decade and kill the hungry. We need to find a solution this decade 'cos knowing mankind it'll take two decades to test it, make sure it is safe then have the countries agree which country to test it on.
You are right however Mars is the best bet for us to emigrate to, well I say us who I really mean are vampires. They don't need to breathe or eat. Just send a few bleeders to keep the vampires happy.

Uh oh, is that another Fan Fic there?

The birth rate isn't going up, the death rate is going down across the board. So, 'population growth' is a bit misleading because its finite; humans can only live so long even with the gains in medical science and freedom from disease, famine, war, etc.

The birth rate is going down (below replacement level) in almost all developed countries and a bigger push for immigration is not a long term solution....since migrates quickly match the birth rate of their host country (a good example is hispanics in the US).

So...like a lot of things its seems like short-term alarmism. On the whole countries like Japan and Russia are more at risk of dying out than anything.

And according to the comics, one vampire already has his own spaceship! They would also enjoy the lack of sunlight. 😁
