PerezHilton.com and Fancast both reported this week that FOX is planning to do a Bones spinoff. I know there's a lot of fans here (since DB is a star, after all!) so although it doesn't involve anyone from the Buffyverse, thought it was worth a share. 🙂

We're always skeptical about spinoffs, but maybe this one will be solid!

Looks like Fox is moving forward with plans for a Bones spinoff. They'll start casting for the series shortly!

If they find the right actor, they'll premiere the new show's lead character, Walter Sherman, on the December 6 episode of Bones.

The Bones creator/executive is basing the new show off a series of books called The Locator.

The story revolves around Walter Sherman, an "eccentric, obstreperous and amusing reclusive man in his late 20s-30s with highly sought after abilities to find anything."

Sherman is connected to the Bones characters because he served in Iraq with David Boreanaz' Agent Booth. As for Emily Deschanel's Dr. Brennan"¦she finds him "very intriguing."

Seems like an inneresting enough character. We'll be curious to see what actor gets cast in the role.

Would U like to watch a Bones spinoff?

I don't watch the show myself, but for those that do: would you be willing to give it a chance?

Hm, the concept sounds mildly interesting but honestly, the only real spinoff that I think has ever gone anywhere (other than Angel, obviously) would be NCIS. This show would have to have a super freakin good cast (like NCIS) in order to catch and keep my attention. I wouldnt watch it simply because of the connection to Bones though.

I like Bones, getting into it lately myself. But I think it's weird that they're planning a spinoff about a character that hasn't even made an appearance yet, and they don't even have an actor cast yet! Plus, here we are into the 6th season and they haven't introduced this character previously. Kind of counting their chicks, huh?

Right now, I'm only watching Bones because DB is nekkid in it every second ep or so. As far as I'm concerned it has nothing else going for it.

(Yes, I am that shallow, I have nothing to hide.)

I can't see myself following another Hart Hanson show.

I completely agree- I'm willing to watch just about anything that has DB naked!!
I unfortunately missed all last season and most of this season. I would give it a shot though because I do love Bones.

I like Bones enough, but it's not one of my favorite shows. I catch it whenever I can, but that's about it. I doubt I'll be watching a spin-off.

I don't get what the spin off is? Maybe I just don't remember that character though.

To be honest I probably wouldn't watch it. I only got into bones by pure fluke and never would have gone out of my way to watch it.

I love the character of Brennan best so really there would be no need for me to watch a spin off.

I really like Bones so I'll probably watch some episodes if the spin off happens. I guess it depends on how much I like the character when he shows up. I refuse to watch it just because it's relation to Bones which doesn't even seem to be much. But then again, I tell people to watch Angel no matter what they think of the character on Buffy. So that settles it. I'll give it a go if I get the chance.

Maybe because he isn't introduced yet. 😉

I'll give it a chance, just hope it's a new show and not some type of Bones redux. I gave up on Bones this season because it seems the writers don't even bother anymore to cover up the fact that they've run out of ways to stall Booth and Brennan from hooking up.

I completely agree 🙂 that's the only reason to watch it nowadays in my opinion (and pfft, shallow... it's about appreciating the finer things in life ;P), although I've given it up even so.

But it started out strong and I really used to enjoy the show so I would probably at least give a spin-off a glance or two to see if it's worthwhile
