Possible Heads Up on Early # 5 Release Date

huh. it's a little confusing then. i don't know whether to go check the comic book store tomorrow or just wait until the date dark horse originally said (aug 1). is it just going to be those comic stores that get them on that day, or is it all? hmm... maybe i'll just wait... afterall, it's only another week
 
I'm not sure. They're discussing it at Whedonesque.com HERE. You may be able to pick up some clues there.

I thought this comment was worth quoting.

TFAW lists the Pub Date as 7/25 too. It still won't be shipped out until 8/15, grrr! And that's why I canceled my Buffy subscription with them. Comics stores aren't nearly as scary as getting my books 2 weeks late every month -- and for $9 at that.

$9!?! wow, that's alot! they're typically about $3 in the stores. and what a hassel having to wait more time too. i've never been one for comic book stores. i agree, they can be a little intimidating to those who aren't used to them. but i just go in, grab the comic, and head out. uh, of course with paying first, hehe, it's not like i shoplift the issues...
 
I wish Dark Horse would step up to the plate and figure out a way to let people subscribe like the big boys, Marvel and DC do. You just drop a check in the mail, and your monthly deliveries are set for a year. (And you actually save a ton by subscribing)
 
I will have to wait for mine until my online place (packratcomics) sends me my paypal invoice. That's when I know it has shipped. So if that is just for stores then I am going to have to wait till Aug 5th. Oh well. Worth every moment. Thanks tho, for sharing.
 
I have a subscription from tfaw, so my issue is always delivered a few days after the actual release, but I don't mind the wait, I'm patient. I waited four whole years once, just to get out of the Navy.
 
just ordered mine. Close Encounters are saying that the release date is August 2nd, but i ordered it anyway. thanks so much for the heads up, N4H

tfaw.com sent mine today while I was at work (woot!). Not sure why but they are very reliable for me, could be because I email them straight away if I want to know anything, lol.
 
Yup, just phoned up the closest Forbidden Planet store and they said it will be available tomorrow, that's a nice surprise! 😀
 
TFAW shipped my copy of #5 today. Don't know what's all that about:

Just got it. I'm about to crack it open.

OK, read it. In the letters section Scott Allie gives the story on the early release.

As I write this, we're going down to the wire, trying to get the book out early so that Joss can have it in his hot little hands at the San diego Comic-Con.
