Possible Scoobies that never were....

I was thinking today about all the charecters we have seen throughout Buffy and how some of them seemed like they would join the Scooby Gang but never did.

So who did you want to or thought would become a Scoobie?

Of course the one at top of my list at wanting to see a Scoobie was Jesse. Since we didnt see that much of him and it seemed like he would've been joining them if it weren't for his sudden death and turn into a vampire.

And the other would have to be Jonathan, he has been there seems like just as long as the other characters, and he knew about the weird things going on in Sunnydale, would've been intresting to see him part of the gang.

Neat Idea.. Never really thought of it but Ya Jesse I would really want to see more of him. He would of been a great character if his sudden death hadn't happened. Now I'm really wondering wait Buffy would be like with Jesse. and Jhonthen Never really liked him but ya he could of become a Scoobie pretty easily. Amy now that was one that I thought would of been a Scoobie Till she turned her self into a rat. But even after I thought she might of become a Scoobie .
Can I ask this here But What Happened to Owen All that I can rember is him in Never Kill a Boy on the First Date But do we hear about him after that?

I would've definately liked to see Jesse more...only Oz seemed a bit like him when he first came into the picture. Jesse was cool though.

Amy would've been a great Scoobie...except of course for the whole Amy-Rat-Amy thing, yes...

But you know who would've made a great turn around to become a Scoob? Harmony...I don't know why, but if she were to have not been killed and turned into a vamp...a ditzy drama queen {dumbed down version of Cordy} would've been funny.

Personally, I like my Scoobs just the way they are. :coolman:

yes i was going to say amy i never understood why sh didnt become a scoob pre ratness lol!!! i remember in a book, part of the gatehouse trilogy, i think it was that, xander thought the same thing when amy saved him!!!

See if Amy had become a Scooby early on, I think her and Willow would have wound up being at odds a lot sooner than S7. Amy is to Willow as Faith is to Buffy as I see it. Willow and Buffy get all the respect, love, and power whereas Faith and Amy have to work twice as hard to get half as much. And in some instances this is deserved.

I definitely would've liked Jesse to come back (as The First Evil, or somehow) but I just doesn't feel right having Jesse as a Scooby. I can't explain it, but it feels like the show would be worse. And I'm sure Joss would kill him off eventually. That Joss, always looking for characters to kill.

Call me crazy, but I kind of liked Chanterelle / Lily / Anne. I don't really think she should've been a main star, but kind of be much more recurring. Like Tara, for example, but not as much as Tara.

Cool thread. But I'm not sure what to add. I wouldn't have wanted any of the other characters to become scoobies really.. For a while I would have said Amy but, because of season 6 and 7 I ended up not being too fond of her... I guess I just love the scoobies too much.

I would have to say Amy as she has some of the characteristics (bad spelling sorry guys) that Willow has even though Willow is a better witch.

I have to agree and say Jonathan. He never really wanted to be evil, so that was a plus.

I feel that during "Superstar" he was gaining that Scooby status (except for the whole spell thing), but he was meshing well with the gang.

But she was sortof recurring on Angel S2, and even had a cameo in the finale.

I would have liked someone Dawn's age to have gotten involved, like maybe the vampire she parked with on halloween. Of course, one more vampire boyfriend might have been a little overdone...

Amy, hmmm, yeah maybe. I mean Faith was a Scoobie for awhile and she provided opposition for Buffy and Amy would have provided some opposition for Willow. I mean why not keep them on their toes.... right?

Jesse..... I wonder, I think that e would have made a cool Scoobie for awhile. I can't help, but think that somehow he would emd up leaving. One way or another.

When I saw 'Lessons' (first episode, season seven) I thought the two friends that Dawn made, Kit and Carlos, were going to form a new 'core three' like Buffy, Xander and Willow did. But they never showed up again, although Dawn is shown talking to Kit in 'Conversations With Dead People'. Might have been interesting to see that develop.

I never like Jesse and was glad he died. He was an ugly loser. But I would loved for Amy to be a scooby. She was a cutie and had a 3d character.

Here's my list:

Jonothan- As said above, he's been around since the very beginning (along with Amy) and deserved to be part of the gang. But I guess thats what Andrew's arc was all about.

Clem- Do I really need to say anymore, he would have been an awesome Scoob.

Parker- I really think Joss and co. missed the mark when they were looking to replace Cordelia in S4. Parker would have been the sarcastic guy who just wound up getting involved and getting his ass kicked. Nobody would want him around and that's why he would stay.

Percy West- Same as Parker

Larry- If he didn't die, it would've been funny to see him joining the group and hitting on Xander. And he lived to season 7, he could've hooked up with Andrew.

Ethan Rayne- Would've added a twist in season 6 if he came in and took Gile's place for awhile.

I definitely loved Cassie from Help. Too bad she couldn't stay around longer. Also, I know Cordelia was a scoobie but I was thinking that it would have been interesting seeing her react to the events in the later seasons. Since she became powerful and all. Plus, the content in BTVS became so much more mature. But she was amazing on Angel though.

Me too! I remember when that episode finished, I was all excited to see Dawn with some new friends and I thought that they'd all have an adventure or two. Alas, I also remember thinking to myself the next week, "where the heck are they?!" haha. I really wish they had a secret episode made hehe

I agree with having Larry and Jonathan as Scoobies. Can you imagine the humour between Larry and Xander, it would have been hilarious!!

Recently watched the "Lessons" commentary and Joss was saying how people thought Kit and Carlos were going to be the new Willow and Xander and Joss was just like "ur...no"
