Post-Chosen Slayer-activation

Yeah that is true there should be more then 1 slayer in Fray, but I think that maybe this was just a mistake on joss's behalf, *ducks*, but it is something that is totally fixable storyline wise, maybe sometime in the future the Slayer line got fixed, magickly, but until I see that I will go on thinking that it was a mistake, I mean he is only human.

i think we both have two very possible theories here, BEG, so i think we'll have to agree to disagree until one of us is proven wrong!! which will probably end up being me, but who cares?

lol I agree with u we should agree to disagree 🙂 Because neither of us can be right until Joss says what happened.

I think that Fray is pretty much irrelevant in this matter. We know that during some apocalyptical battle in the 21st century all supernatural things were banished from this dimension... that could either include one or many slayers. We know that at least one Slayer was responsible for what happened... but that's basically all we know. Joss probably left it in the vague, because he wanted to keep his options open.

Oh and, please, N4H we would very much like to hire your nerdiness right now!!! 😉

There was a comic convention in I believe it was San Diego shortly after Chosen. Joss was there, and spoke to the discrepencies between Chosen and Fray. I believe he was talking about the whole multiple slayer to 1 (well actually 1 and a half if you consider her brother) slayer thing. He promised to make everything make sense either in Angel Season 5, or the future series of Fray he says he'll do one day.

I didn't see anything in A-5, so I guess we'll have to wait for the next Fray. No word on when that might be.

Thanks for clearing that up! Nevertheless, the Fray/Chosen discrepancies are not actually the topic of this thread... (we strayed off it, I'm afraid.) The original discussion was about whether any new Slayer's are called and at what age they are called... are there baby-Slayers!?

Well yeah, if you have multiple slayers in Chosen, and only 1 in Fray, and the inference is her and her brother are the only remaining connections to the line, then obviously something happened between Chosen and Fray to change things, or you'd have millions of slayers.

What would make most sense is the line continued to pass through Buffy or Faith, whichever one it is passing through at the time of S-7. Meaning the newly activated slayers don't pass the line. Meaning also the old "chosen one" rules apply, therefore no baby slayers.

But who knows...only Joss, until the next Fray, apparently.

i think it's quite possible that there are baby slayers. i mean, the spell was to turn ALL potentials into slayers. we know that kennedy knew how to use a crossbow from she was 8 years old, so it's fair to assume that she was in training before that time, so obviously whatever power potentails have can be dectected before they are 8 years old.
so baby slayers are entirely possible!!

Then aren't elderly Slayers possible too? Cause some women might have been potentials to be Slayers during WWII and may now be living in some retirement home... wouldn't they be called too?

Well, since Kennedy made such a big fuss out of being too old to be called anymore... Perhaps there is expiration-date for the potential of activation... not for being the Slayer, but like the potential can only be activated untill the ?th year and after that it does not work anymore.

KENNEDY
Doesn't work that way. In fact, the younger, the better. In fact, I'm starting to think it might be too late for me.

EVE
Never too late. It could be anyone. Especially since there's so few of us left. They'll just run through each one of us, one after the other. Kinda creepy, huh? All we do is wait around for each other to die.

Showtime

Eve/The first said it is never to late, I think that is true.Ok we know the power is not predetermined, u never know who will be the next slayer, it cant be predetermined because u never know how long a slayer will live, but we have seen through the series that it usually goes to a slayer of about 16/17. exceptions being nikki woods, Xin Rong(Boxer rebellion Slayer, is that right) and the first slayer they were not around 16/17 when activated, I'm guessing because they are older and the whole not live very long thing.
Ok now the speculation I think that when a slayer dies the power will choose a random girl, it will aim for a someone between 16-20, but if there is none between these ages it will go 2 another, because u are born with the potential and u never loose it. The first says "Especially since there's so few of us left. They'll just run through each one of us" that's is what leads me to think this true.
Another theory is maybe u can get too old to be a slayer, when we see the slayers being activated we saw a 8/9yr old girl being activated and the rest were about 16-20 we do not see anyone 30 or over, so maybe u can loose ur potentialness.

how do we know how old nikki and xin rong were when they were called? we saw them die, but maybe they were long serving slayers, lasting for years?
and what about the crucimentium (sp?) the test that has to be performed on a slayer on her 18th birthday? kinda puts a spanner in the works if a slayer can be called AFTER her 18th birthday, meaning she can never go through the test.
ok, so maybe they changed the rules and a slayer can now be called after her 18th, but maybe kennedy is right and there is a cut off date, but who can know for sure?
maybe there are little old lady slayers out there kiccking vampire bootie!! 😉
