It's from Sandman by Neil Gaiman...I think from the story "The sound of her wings" and, if memory serves me correctly, it was drawn by Mike Dringenberg...who I suspect is responsible for my av 🙂

You should check the series out if you haven't already...one of the best comics ever made IMO.
