If this is true then the fact that Sarah Michelle Gellar is on board interests me greatly. Unfortunately it seems the plan has been shelved now anyway.

It annoys me when they say we've had enough Vampire related things. Buffy was the show that started the phase off in the first place so it is entitled to come back and reap the success of it.

Thoughts on this? Is it connected to the film in 2012?

I'm sure this report is a hoax. SMG wasn't willing to play Buffy again even with Joss onboard. She certainly wouldn't under these circumstances. Also, if the plan is to "reboot" the series, having a lead actress in her 30's (SMG) doesn't make much sense.

I call BS on this story. But I hope the part about the project being shelved is true.

Well the article isn't saying that Hudgens would be playing Buffy or anything. It might have been something like Hudgens' character would be under Buffy's tutelage? lol, I dunno.

I too think this story is a fake but I do hope the movie has been shelved. I agree with the fact that Buffy is the show that started it all and deserves to reap success from the vampire phenomenon BUT, the way Hollywood remakes things is so indelicate and so money hungry that they would only destroy the legacy.
