I was sure if to put this here or on the Season 8 thread but seeing as it started in S7 I wondered

How do feel about Buffy getting Willow to make all the potentials now slayers? I mean there are now hundreds of them everywhere. Part of me feels it has taken the whole Slayer thing away from Buffy , I liked the fact that she was the only one and then having Faith of course being the unstable slayer.

Also I wonder how does this effect new slayers being born everyday. Before a new slayer got her power when the recent one died. But now the power is shared and been released to them all does this mean a slayer has her powers from birth - are there baby slayers running around??? : erm :

hope I am making sense!!

I don't know, but you know the podgy one who was getting bullied, then stands up all empowered and stuff?

She was like a wrecking machine, she could have kicked those bullies asses, why'd she let them do anything to her? She could have just headbutted them into a coma.

The whole point of making hundreds maybe thousands or millions of slayers was to take the burden off Buffy. Now she doesn't really have the weight of the world on her shoulders anymore. The power that she'd been talking about for 7 years now belongs to hundreds, thousands, millions of others. Now her new mission is to find them and train them and inform them of their new ranking in life as well as continuing to save the world, but her fight isn't as hard anymore cause she has a squad of mini-Buffy's behind her. She doesn't have to worry about putting her friends in danger anymore because they don't have to accompany her on patrols or anything anymore cause she has other slayers to back her up and more than just one other like when she patrolled with Faith. So there being many slayers around the world doesn't bother me, only thing that bothers me is now that we're in Season Eight comics these other slayers will overshadow Willow storylines or Xander storylines or Dawn storylines or Giles or Andrew. Kind of like issue #5 where the entire story wasn't about Buffy or Willow or Dawn or Xander or Giles or Andrew or all of her core group together but about a rarndom slayer and how she fits into the puzzle.

I am not a huge fan of it at all. I wish it was something that would wear off ya know? I think it would have been great for it to have been for like a week or something. Then again we wouldn't have had that oh so powerful speech about all the girls becoming slayers and the whole, can stand up, will stand up thing.
I liked it that Buffy was the one who took care of the mission. And besides, there was Faith, maybe they could share the battle. But then again, if they want to live a long, long life, I guess they wouldn't want to be slaying at 80, lol.

Before season 8 came out I really hated this idea. I thought it was a cheap way of making Buffy win the final battle. I also didn't like how all those girls now had super strength because I kept thinking, "Now what are they going to use their powers with?"

However, when season 8 rolled around I was very happy Joss did that. Just thinking that there were going to be good slayers and evil slayers made me so happy! I also liked it because maybe we can see a group of slayers that are vampires. That would be cool to see Buffy fighting them and the slayer vamps siding with the evil slayers and then they band together and try to either turn Buffy into a vampire, or kill her. It would be like the people she made are plotting to destroy her.

Now that could be very interesting. Evil slayers against good slayers. Such possibilities.
Jone you sound good with story ideas!
In a way it does seem to make Buffy less special, but I think Joss has effectively countered this for me with 8.05. The following isn't too much of a spoiler for 5, but just incase:
The story isn't about Buffy, but it's really clear about how the name of Buffy Summers has more power then any other champion on the planet.
Think my main issue like charmedslayer is that the stories are digressing from the scoobies a little.
