This is so terrible. I just thought I'd post about it on the boards for anyone who didn't already know.
 
This is so sad. 🙁 My prayers are going out to those people, and the families of the ones who have died.
 
Everyone who is near or in a warning zone, be cautious and keep your family and friends safe!

This is devastating news.
 
Really upsetting news. I'm saying a prayer for the people who have been affected by this. 🙁
 
I was watching until 5 am this morning until I had to go to sleep. By the time I went to bed, there were already 29 confirmed deaths. I'm sure the death toll is higher by now. New Zealand has had earthquakes and I think some of the smaller islands have been completely engulfed by the tsunami. 🙁 I really hope it doesn't hit Australia or the Pacific US coast.
 
I agree...so terrible and scary. I live in Santa Cruz, Ca where there is still a tsumani warning in effect and evacuations on the coast. No major damage yet except loose boats in the harbor. The water has been receding and coming back up which is a very weird thing to watch. It has been downgraded to a warning in Hawai'i but near where my lives the water came 100ft onto the shore! It was also just upgraded to a 9.1 earthquake in Japan and a possible radiation leak from a nuclear poewr plant! Luckily, I think we learned from the major tsunami in Thailand and Hawaii has led the way in implementing a much better warning system and evacuation plan.
 
Horrible indeed and it seems things like this happens more and more. Or maybe tjust that he information spreads easier to make us more aware. Hope the damages and deaths can be kept as low as possible, since "low" in itself was passed from the start.
 
Really scary. One of My close friends is in Tokyo studying. His phone doesn't work so I spent yesterday hanging by the computer waiting for his updates. He's fine, but freaked out.

My thoughts goes out to all those who's been affected by this. I hope it's over now and as many lifes as possible can be saved.
 
Very shocking to watch, especially as its happen so soon after the earthquake in Christchurch. I was watching the videos of the tsunami online yesterday and seeing people in cars just suddenly being flooded is really devastating. The department I work in at work got an email from someone in Japan and all it said was that everywhere was shaking and he was really scared. I hope the man is alright though.
 
I have an uncle stationed in Japan... I'm glad I was asleep when this went down because I wouldn't have been to sleep otherwise. He and my aunt and cousin are fine thank god... but when I heard about it when I woke up, it scared me half to death.
 
It really is horrifying to see happen, with the earthquake and then the tsunami and then the nuclear plant explosion. Can't imagine how scared the poor people of Japan must feel. Hope as many as possible are ok.
 
This is devastating..the videos they put up..I have no words...all those poor people. I hope people can save them as many as they can...it's terrible.
 
Yeah I heard about it.....my regards to anybody who's from Japan or has family, etc. I hope things get better over there and I'll most likely look into how to help them via donations.
