I just ordered my advance copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at amazon. I know we did this thread over a year ago now, but with the imminent release of the book on July 16, what do you think is gonna happen in this episode? And how will the series end? I don't want spoilers, just your predictions! What do you think will happen? What do you want to see happen? Tell us here!

I dont know really, i think it'd be a realy good twist ending if the prophecy came true but instead of harry killing voldemort, he kills harry or they both kill each other, a really good bad ending is what i personally want but i doubt it'll happen lol

Idk what would happen in this book particularly... But I think that someone is gonna save Harry from dying in the end... Either Snape or Malfoy... Haven't decided... But whoever it is, they're gonna die... So yea...

Snape is my best guess and Dumbledore is gonna betray Harry somehow. To be honest that's not my prediction, but my friend and she's read the books way to many times so I kinda believe her, she's got a tendency to be right.

Personally I'd quite like Harry to die. It's all gonna end with Voldemort going all Darth on us

"Dumbledore never told you the truth about your father Harry."
"He told me you betrayed and kill him."
"No Harry...,
I am your father." and Voldie's got a cold so his voice is all impressive and not that squeecking like in the first movie. "Join me and together we can rule the Empire."
"Noooooooooo......"

Then harry falls of a cliff, but he hasn't got a sister and none of his friends are that good at flying so he dies. The End.

XD Thats awesome. :p
Gah! I just wrote this extremely long post and just when I was about to post it, the program shut down.. Stupid computer at stupid internet cafe...

Anyways, I said something about how much I'd want Ron and Hermione to have a secret relationship that we'll find out about in the end of the book...

And that I have actually started to like Harry (the character), and that I hope he'll be completely over the Cho thing now, so that story can just be not more...

And also, that nothing really matters to me now that Sirius is dead.. He was the best thing and the most interesting character.. I still haven't re read the order of the phoenix cause just thinking about it makes me so sad....

No I think its the sixth and there are going to be seven so i think its the second to last book

It'll be hard to recap, Faldor, so much has happened. I suggest yuo find the fifth book, its really good.

I think someone important willl die. Maybe she wont save it for the end book, it'll be this giant blow in the middle of the story.
What I'd like to see happen is Ron come out with feelings for Hermione, then die in an epic battle to save her life.

ah, the drama.

i've read them all, just bloody ages ago and i have too much on my too read list to go back over them.

i doubt dumbledore will see it to the end however, he's the Gandalf/obi-wan figure in this heroes journey, he's set harry on his path and soon the narritive will no longer require him.

shame, he's a nice old gent

Nononono, that's where you are wrong. He is in fact not nice or a gentleman. He is something far worse....can't come to think of anything right now, but whatever he is and his real plans are like I'm sure they''re gruesome.

are you saying, Jolly, that you predict Dumbledore will turn out to be evil in the end?

hmm...interesting. ive had the same thoughts, but found it too conflicting with everything else.

As an aside, I read over the weekend that JK Rowling had actually gone into one of the Harry Potter chatty thingies (anonymously I assume) on t'interweb (mugglenet.com or something like that) where they were discussing theories about the next book and all her contributions (ie. massive spoilers 🙂) were either dismissed or ignored by the fanboys (and girls). I really hope that the report was true, it appeals to my sense of irony...

There's like this one sentance in The Goblet of Fire that could suggest something like that yes. There is something about the way Dumbledore looks or talks to Harry that is all suspicious. Can't remember what it is now, but it's there. And according to JK herself it is supposed to be important and not just a typo.

Personally, I don't care what happens in the books because i stopped reading the 5th book because of the death.

But, I think everyone will end up dying because Voldemort burns the school down and he rules the world until Harry comes back to life(somehow) and kills him with a shot gun 😛

That might never happen, but they never could kill him with magic, so why not kill him with a non-magical weapon? 😛

I think that'd be an awsome way to defeat Voldemort. Kinda like...

Harry slowly slid his hand into his robes, as Voldemort looked down onto him, a sneer spreading across his face. Harry then pulled out the small revolver that was hidden in his pocket.
"What's that?" Voldemort asks, surprised, but only to have his face shot off.

Alright, yes, rather violent and...well...silly now that I think of it. The whole purpose of the book is to get away from all tat drab...all the regular American Sitcom crap and MAKE MAGIC!...

still...it'd be funny to see Harry take a .22 to Voldies head.

OK, I waited to see what y'all had to say, so here's mine:

Ron and Hermione become an item finally, after sparring for the last 2 books. Voldemort realizes the best way to get at Harry is to get his "family" (NOT the Dursleys) and he sets out to kill one of them. He succeeds, and kills Hermione, since he figures out that will do the most damage...killing Ron would be bad, but the most painful thing for Harry would be to see Ron devastated AND lose Hermione. He wants to goad Harry into coming after him. Harry wins in the end, and kills Voldemort...at the cost of his ability to do magic...which forces him out of the magical world and back to the world of Muggles, where he came from.

Just another note, I've studiously avoided spoilers, so this is my opinion! And if Rowling did go online and put up spoilers that were shot down by the fans, well, that would be hilarious! Tickles my sense of humour!

now that sounds like a very possible ending, if you just could squeeze in an evil Dumbledore it would be perfect
