Premiere edition vs Slipcase edition

So, I'm trying to decide whether to save up & purchase the hardcover Ptemiere Edition or the Slipcase Edition (has all 4 volumes collected in a very nice looking slipcase). On Amazon the Premiere ed is about $20 more than the Slipcase. My biggest question is: is there extra material in the Premiere ed?

Well, I bought the Premiere edition a few months ago, and I really, really like it. However cool you think it looks on Amazon, it's better in person, and I'm being totally serious. It's a great piece. I'm a big comic book guy and just aesthetically, it's one of the favorites of my collection. I keep it on display in my room.

It's really big too. I don't know the size dimensions of the slipcase edition, but the Premiere has the panels sized as they were when the writers designed them (most comics are formatted down into the standard size we normally see). I've found you get more out of the art when that happens.

I'd go for the Premiere Edition, if it's something you really want. I've found it to be worth the money.

I just double checked and there is an art gallery provided at the back, but it's not that great, to be honest. It shows all the individual covers and the alternates (which is pretty standard for most comic hardcovers). There isn't anything showing the design plans though.

Still, it's a great set.

Simply because the slip cover is cheaper. 🙂 (& I don't have any of these at all)

So, another question. Does the Premiere Edition contain any extra material than the Volume Hardcovers, and are they the same size as the Premiere Edition? (I know they're bigger than the TPB, don't know how they compare in size to the Premiere)
 
Another fan said that the only extras were a cover gallery and if I understood, a letter from the writer, Lynch. Not sure about the size.

I checked ebay and was suprised not to see a single auction with several of the ATF HCs, a lot. They pop up sometimes. Might be worth saving a search on ebay in case one comes up before the slipcase cover is released.

Btw, the Kindle edition is 8 dollars, and can be read on you laptop. Just a idea. Or borrow from the library before you decide to buy.
 
According to the dimensions on Amazon, Premiere Edition is about 2 inches taller than the HCs. I have one Angel HC (1 of the later ones, so not contained in the Premerie Ed.), & I can't remember what extras it has, I'll have to pull it out & look at it.

And yeah, I know about the digital editions, I might go for that. I do have ATF via JPEGs that someone sent me, don't know if I can somehow convert those to be read on one of the ereading apps?
 
I always find better prices for used comics on Amazon- that's where I bought most of the Buffy season 8 TPBs. But I always check both.
 
The Premiere Edition pages are considerably bigger. From what I saw of the slipcase edition, I'd go with the Premiere. I know it's a bit more money, but it's a great piece, it's all bound nicely into one book and it looks fantastic.

A note about the $7.99 Kindle edition- that is just for the volume 1 TPB. So you would have to purchase all 4 volumes to "make up" what's in the Premiere Edition or the slipcase collection.

I don't know, but I can get used hardcovers or TPBs for that price on Amazon! I'd rather have a physical copy.
